Birthday Swap
Happy Monday! It's been a little quiet here on the blog the past week. That's because I've been super busy at home and work. We went to Atlantic City for a night for a quick getaway last Thursday. Then we had 2 birthday parties to attend this weekend. One was for one of my son's friends and the other was a 90th birthday party for my grandmother. 90 can you believe it! Our family got together at a local firehouse for some lunch. The kids had fun running around and they had an extra perk of checking out the fire trucks. My son loved it!
So my card today is a birthday card (not the one I sent to my grandmother, I sent her another one I already posted). Today's card is for a swap that I'm in with some local demos. Our theme for May was Father's Day or a masculine card. I went with a manly birthday card. I saw this layout on pinterest and thought it would work well for a guy card. You don't want to have too many frilly things on a guy card. :) I think my favorite part of this card is the paint splatters. I love this stamp from Gorgeous Grunge. I did have to do a bit of fussing cutting for this card (the candles and flames) but at least the candles are pretty easy to cut and I only had to do it for 5 cards. I also used some new in-colors on this card. I think the Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy look really nice together and look great with Smokey Slate.
I hope you like today's card. I am working on my swap for June and will have that to share in the next couple of weeks. I can't share it until all of the ladies receive it. :) But it's such a cute card, I can't wait to share it!
Thanks for stopping by!

Dino-rrific birthday!
Happy first day of summer! Looks like it's going to be a hot one here today. I will be jumping into the pool after work today to cool off. Today's card is a CASE of one of my cards I did in the past. See that post HERE. That was such a fun card to make that I thought I needed a girl version of it. I did a couple of tweeks to it by adding and embossing the bones on the dinosaurs, used different dinosaurs, embossed the background and added a strip of DSP at the bottom. I did use the retired starburst framelits again but you could definitely use the new circle layer framelits. Another thing to note is that I used the paint brush stamp from the extra set in April's Paper Pumpkin kit to add a little extra color to the sentiment banners.
This is a short post for today but I hope you enjoyed the card!
Stay cool!

A little foxy
Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We had a busy weekend here. We had a play date on Saturday, I did some Lularoe shopping on Sunday at my sister-in-law's house and then went to Sesame Place with the kids yesterday. They had a blast! It was our first time going with the kids and they loved it. Before the weekend, I finally got my order from the new catalog and had a tiny bit of time to make a card. I HAD to use the new fox set. This set is just the cutest. You can make several cute little critters from this set. First up I went with the fox. I can't wait to make some of the other animals. There are lots of different pieces to this set so you can make an animal sitting down on the tree stump or you can make him on the run!! Two things to note on this card that may be hard to see in the photo are that the background in the circle is watercolored with Pool Party ink and the woodgrain embossed background is sanded to rough it up a little bit.
I hope you like this cute guy! Thanks for stopping by.

More pineapples!!!
Hi! I've got another pineapple for you! This fun little stamp is really growing on me. At first I wasn't sure I should get it but then I thought it was cute and searched for pineapple stuff on Pinterest and just found a bunch of super cute things! Now that I've played with it a bit it's so fun! Today's card was a bit of a mishap that I think turned out fine. When I originally stamped the pineapple on the cardstock, my inks were coming out a little bubbly and just weren't stamping right onto the cardstock. So the next time I tried it, I used my aqua painter to blend it a bit. Once I did that, I lost the lines/details of the stamp but that's ok, I liked the look. I did go back with my markers and tried to recreate some of the leaft and pineapple lines. I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture but they are there. Then I went back with my wink of stella and added some shimmer. So now the pineapple has a shimmery watercolor look. For the white background I used a stencil from the retired banner kit (I forget what it's called) but any stencil would work for this technique. I took some texture paste and used it over the stencil to add this little detail. It's so quick and simple to add a bit of dimension. The only downside is that is does take a little time to dry. After that I added some strips of DSP and glimmer paper and the sentiment. This sentiment is from the February 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit. I love this font!
So what do you guys think of the pineapple?? Are you loving it yet?
Thanks for stopping by!

Graduation 2016
Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. We slowly moved our furniture back into the house. The floors look awesome but I'm so afraid of putting anything down on them and messing them up! Here are some before and after shots.
Pretty awesome right! The before photos are from when we first moved in. We've done a bit of updating and painting since those original photos so the house hasn't looked as horrible, haha! But it such a large improvement.
So today's cards are ones that I did a few weeks back but didn't get a chance to post. Now that graduation season is among us, I thought I had better get them posted before it was over. I was just informed today that my little boy will be having a little "graduation" ceremony at his daycare on Friday. Sniff, sniff! I mean technically he's not going anywhere since he'll be in daycare all summer but they like to follow the school system and are just having a small little gathering to give him a certificate from pre-school and then he'll move on to pre-k in September. I cannot believe that he will only have 1 more year in daycare. (I'm almost crying just thinking about it)! It really is turn that time with your babies just flies on by!
Anywhooo, let's move on to the cards. The first card uses some stamps from the March (?) Paper Pumpkin kit. That's another great thing about these kits, they come with versatile stamp sets. Sometimes I don't always have graduation sentitments and things like that but the Paper Pumpkin kits always come with a great variety of stamps. The DSP is from the retired Going Global collection but any kind of DSP would work with this simple layout. I kept this simple thinking this would be a good card for a boy graduation.
The next card uses the Number Of Years stamp set and coordinating dies. I did a little bit of watercoloring in the background along with using the Gorgeous Grunge splatter image. This card would be great to match the school colors of the graduating individual. I did CASE this card from one I saw on pinterest by Erna Logtenberg. I just made a couple of tweaks by adding the grad cap and some candy dots. (LOVE those candy dots!!) I have new ones coming and I CANNOT wait to use them!
Thanks for stopping by.

April Paper Pumpkin and the New Catalog!!!
Hello! So I just realized that I never posted this project. I actually started writing the post but apparently never finished it. So here it is for you today. Today's post shows you April's Paper Pumpkin kit. This kit was a 3d project and I loved it. I know some people aren't exactly a fan of the 3d projects in the Paper Pumpkin kits but I think they are so fun. I have tons of supplies to make cards so I like the surprise of a 3d project every once in a while. This wreath was fairly small but so cute. It fit perfectly above my sink in my laundry room. I decided to spice it up a bit by added a Crushed Curry flower using the spiral flower die. Isn't this so cute! I picked up a few more kits so I plan to make a couple more as gifts for my mom and whoever else wants one!
And on to other super exciting news! The new Stampin' Up! catalog is now live. Quick, go check it out and place your order. You will love this catalog. I think this is one of the best yet! My wish list is huge! I placed my order on the 1st and should get it next week so I cannot wait to start playing and showing you guys some new stuff!
If you want to see some new products, I will be having an open house on June 28th. Contact me for more details.
But if you can't wait that long, have your own workshop. There is an awesome perk for being a hostess this month.
Hosts who have qualifying events with $350 USD or more in sales during the promotion period will receive $35 USD in Extra Stampin’ Rewards for the order. That's fantastic. That means you can get at least $77 in free product! You will want that for all of the great stuff in the catalog. Contact me now to set up your workshop! :)
Have a great weekend!
