Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a nice long weekend. Ours was spent getting our house ready to have our floors refinished. Which means we need to move ALL of the furniture into the kitchen, laundry room or my son's room; the only rooms in the house not getting refinished. That was so much work and i'm so scared of the thought of moving it all back, haha!! But in between all of that work we did get to have fun and BBQ and go swimming. The kids had so much fun in the pool. This is the first year my daugher is using the puddle jumper so I wasn't sure if she was going to be scared in the pool. Nope, she's a natural, she loves it!!
Oh yeah and in between all of that I also worked on projects for the Display Stamper application. This year there will be an OnStage Event super close to me and Stampin' Up! is looking for display stampers for each event. I figured since I plan on going, I might as well give it a whirl and try out. I was really surprised I was able to get everything done before we had to be out of the house for 3 days!! Yikes! So without further ado, here are my projects! I'm going to keep the descriptions fairly short on these since there are a lot of pictures. But please feel free to contact me with any questions.
First up is my group of cards.
I will show you this card first because it's my favorite! I love how it came out. Isn't that pineapple adorable?? He can be all yours starting tomorrow! The DSP is also new and called Pop of Pink. The tag is punched on a fun new color called Flirty Flamingo. Swoon!
My next card uses elements from this month's Paper Pumpkin kit (the white lattice piece, Happy sticker and birthday stamp). First I water colored the white piece using Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo. Then I used one of the stamps from Gorgeous Grunge in those same colors and randomly stamped it on the front. I also added a candle from the Build a Birthday set which was stamped in Pool Party. I think this is a fun summer color combo.
The last card has more water coloring on it. I used the beautiful flower from Birthday Blooms. I love coloring in this flower. I used the aqua painter and Sweet Sugarplum and Emerald Envy ink to color it in. Aren't these new colors so pretty?!? The background was also water colored with Mint Macaroon ink. Then I added some splotches from Gorgeous Grunge in the mint ink. I finished it off with a couple of pearls and sequins from the February Paper Pumpkin kit. Sequins are so great for adding that last little something to a card!
Then we had to make 2 3-D items.
First, I used the Mini Treat Bag thinlits to make a little gift card holder. When you pull out the white card you can attach a gift card to the back using a glue dot or you can just add it inside the bag. Who wouldn't love to receive a gift card like this?? What do you think about the bow and curled DSP? I saw this fun idea on Stampin' Up!'s instagram page the other day and thought it was such a cute idea. I used more of the Pop of Pink Specialty DSP to make this curled "ribbon".
My second 3-D item using the Baker's Box thinlit with Sweet Sugarplum cardstock. The dotted image is from the Timeless Textures set. I brought out my trusty owl punch to make the cute owl for the box. I envision making little goodies bags for my kids parties using this thinlit. The girls will get the owls and the boys will get a super cute fox (an adorable fox is making an appearance in the new catalog tomorrow!!!).
And last but not least, is my scrapbook page. Of course I had to scrapbook pictures of my kids! :) Again, I used the Pop of Pink DSP for the background. I ran 2 of the butterfly framelits through the big shot to make a stencil (the smallest butterfly is the punch). I used these stencils and texture paste to add a little extra texture :) to the page. I added a bit of Flirty Flamingo ink to the paste to give it the light pink/peach color. After adding the pictures and the little banners, I added the word "Joy" from the Wonderful Wreath framelits. Then finished it off with more sequins and enamel dots.
Phew, that was a long but fun post!!! I hope you guys enjoyed all of these projects. Fingers crossed I get picked for the November event. Even if I don't, I had a blast making these projects.
Thanks for stopping by!
