Carols of Christmas (Part II) - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hello Welcome to the Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog hop. There are 20 of us from around the world so be sure to follow along to see everyone's projects. You should have just come from Holly's blog. Isn't her project gorgeous!

It's August but the Artisan Team is back into the Christmas groove. It's an exciting time because the Carols of Christmas set is now available as an early release for customers! So demos and customers can get their hands on this new set before the Holiday catalog goes live in September. You can also use any earned Bonus Days coupons to purchase the Carols of Christmas items.

Ok now let's see some fun projects with this set.

I still have yet to get any of the new holiday DSP but that doesn't mean you can't make any holiday cards. For this card I made my own DSP. I stamped the Diagonal stamp in versamark on Shimmer paper and then embossed with clear embossing powder. It a nice but subtle effect.

I did a quick watercolor wash in the background and added some trees from the Card Front Builder thinlit dies and 2 little deer. Aren't they cute!? I stamped the Peace on Earth sentiment on Real Red cardstock but just cut out the Peace word since I didn't have enough space for the rest of the sentiment. I layered this on some gold cardstock and added gold thread.

Here you can see the close up of the embossing on the shimmer cardstock.

For my next card, I did more searching through my DSP and came across this black and white one from the Pick a Pattern DSP. I used that as my base and for the snowflakes that I die cut with the Seasonal Layers thinlits dies.

For the sentiment I stamped it first in Pool Party ink then I sponged it with Dapper Denim and Night of Navy ink. I then cut it out with a Stitched Shape circle. I used the same sponging technique on the leaves too.(stamped first with Lemon Lime Twist, then lightly sponged with Emerald Envy). I also used the fun border thinlit on this card too. I love how it adds a special something to the white cardstock.

To finish of the card I added some enamel shapes to the leaves, a Pool Party bow and a cute mini gift bow! These are perfect for the holidays!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!
