Global Design Project #130 - Sketch Challenge

Happy Monday! I am excited to be a guest designer on the Global Design Project challenge this week. I was a winner on last month’s color challenge, woo hoo!, so I get to participate as a guest designer this month.

This week the challenge is a sketch challenge. I love a sketch challenge and this one is great.

My kids went to a birthday party this weekend for the girls of friends of ours. Of course I had to make their cards and this sketch challenge was perfect for that. I love how these came out.

The first card I did was the party hat card. I started by cutting out one of the party hats from the Picture Perfect Party DSP. Then I cut out a number 5 from the large number framelits with the Myths and Magics glimmer paper. A kids birthday card has to have sparkle to it! For the background I used another piece of DSP from the Picture Perfect Party pack and then stamped the diagonal stripe piece. I did go pretty literal from the sketch by stamping the diagonal piece but you could definitely switch that out by using another piece of DSP or stamping a different image. And to finish it off I added the ribbon and some pink tutti fruitti sequins.

For my next card, I decided to use the Magical Day stamp set. I could see myself using all of the images from this set with this same layout for other birthday cards. That is next on my list to try!!

I stamped and colored the unicorn with the Pink Pirouette, Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry blends. I cut the 3 out from the Myth and Magic glimmer paper again. This time I used my Pink Pirouette blends marker to color it in. I like how it became a light peachy color. The DSP used on this card was from Painted With Love. I love all of the papers in this set. I again used the diagonal strip stamp on Flirty Flamingo cardstock. I was having fun using different shades of pinks and purples on this card. To finish off this card, I added the silver baker’s twine and some iridescent sequins.

Make sure you stop on by the Global Design Project blog and play along with this week's challenge and check out the other great designs by the team.

Have a great day!

  3. Once you've taken in the unique décor at these San Francisco venues, the hardest part is to decide whether to go upstairs or downstairs. With a large open floor plan, you'll find bars on both levels, and someone will always come by to serve you matter where you decide to hang out.
