More ruffles

Hello! Today's card features more ruffles. This is also another CASE from Dawn McVey's blog. Again, I just used Stampin Up stamps instead. This card also fits today's challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. I stamped the butterflies from For All You Do in Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron. The yellow butterfly has dazzling diamonds on them. The swirls are from Wedding Sweet stamped in Close to Cocoa. The sentiment is from On Your Birthday. Hope you enjoy!

Easter Floral

Hello! Today's card is an Easter card. I got the inspiration again from Dawn McVey's blog. I love the cards she does. I just usually try to change them using the Stampin Up stamps that I have. And today I also changed the colors from her card as well. I stamped the flowers from Fifth Avenue Floral onto Pretty in Pink cardstock with Close to Cocoa. I cut them out and added dazzling diamonds to them. The leaves are from the retired Central Park set. They also have dazzling diamonds on them. (I might have gone a little crazy with the sparkles today!) The polka dot background paper is from the Cottage Wall dsp. I used the punch from the SAB catalog for the certainly celery cardstock. The sentiment is from Well Scripted from the Occasions mini. I tried something new with the ribbon. Instead of tying a bow or know I did ruffles. This was my first time doing this so I need a little practice to make them neater but overall I think it's cute. Something I will probably do more of in the future. If I can get my sewing machine working I will probably try to sew them done so they're not as fluffy. Anway, enjoy your day!

Good Neighbors

Here is something other than Awash with Flowers. I used the Good Neighbors set (which is a free Sale-a-bration set with a $50 purchase). I got this set thinking it was really cute but I've had a hard time with it. Although I do actually like how this card came out. This would look great in many different colors. I stamped the houses in Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay. All the roofs were stamped in Soft Suede with Dazzling Diamonds added. The bottom is Certainly Celery cardstock sponged with the same color ink. I just freehand cut the hills. The white is sponged with Bashful blue for the sky. The sentiment is from Bella's Bloom (also another set that you can earn free during sale-a-bration). The flower on the so saffron is also from Bellas Bloom and stamped in Crushed Curry. And lasty I added a bow with the Crushed Curry polka dot ribbon (which I think is the first time I actually used that color ribbon). That's it for today. Have a great day!

Another sneak peek!

Ok, here is the last sneak peek for a little while of Awash with Flowers. I was just on a roll with this so I figured I needed to go with it. The size of this card is 3 1/2 by 6 1/4 (I think). It is sized to fit in a standard small envelope. I stamped the outline of all the flowers in Chocolate Chip. The flowers were stamped in Whisper White. The other image was stamped in Creamy Caramel and the leaves were Old Olive. I sponged around the edges of all the pieces in Creamy Caramel. The "gratitude" sentiment is from Falling Leaves. I'll be back this week with something other than Awash with Flowers. :)

Sneak Peek 2

Here is another sneak peek from Awash with Flowers. All these flowers are really getting me in the mood for spring. I certainly don't think we'll be having spring here in the East this weekend. It's supposed to be a cold rainy weekend. Hopefully these flowers will brighten things up a bit. The base of this card is Soft Sky (which unfortunately is no longer available :( ). The 2 smaller flowers are stamped in Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink and Bermuda Bay. The large flower was stamped in Barely Banana and then I sponged the middle part with Pumpkin Pie and then added a little bit of Chocolate Chip. The kraft piece was stamped with a small leaf in Creamy Caramel. I don't know if you can tell in the picture but the edges of the white piece were sponged with Bashful Blue. I added 2 brads to the corner, stamped the Happy Birthday in the other corner and added a little bit of piercing next to the sentiment (it's hard to see it in the photo). Have a great day!

Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek at a new set from the new catalog which comes out in July. Customers will have a chance to order this set in April. More details about that to come.

The inspiration for this card came from Dawn McVey. I liked her idea for the bottom of the card. So I used the Top Note die to achieve that look. I punched out the die on scrap paper and then traced the part I wanted onto the cardstock and dsp. The flowers are stamped in the following colors: Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive for the leaves. (don't mind the little boo boo from the green leaves under the pink flower, I just didn't feel like starting over :) ) I then covered the flowers in stickles (you could also use dazzling diamonds). The pink flower was also cut out and raised on dimensionals. The ribbon is the soft suede polka dot ribbon, I just used the opposite side of it. The bottom dsp is from the Sweet Pea pack. The sentiment is from the Trendy Trees set. I think this may be one of my new favorite flower sets. I plan to do an upcoming class with this set. I will post the details once it's completed.

2010 Calendar (part 2)

Here is the next set of months for the 2010 calendar for my mom (May - August). I tried to use brighter colors for the spring/summer months. I have one last set of months to finish up so I hope to do those soon. I don't know if you can tell from the photo but all of the flowers are cut out and popped up on dimensionals. It's a little time consuming to cut the flowers but it definitely looks good in the end.
