GDP #270 - Sketch Challenge: Christmas Blessings

Hello! I'm going to make my post brief but I had to share the card I made for the Global Design Project challenge this week. This week's challenge is a sketch. Sketches and color challenges are my favorites. Anyway click HERE for the sketch.

I'm working on my christmas cards so this sketch was good to help me come up with some other ideas.

I'm in LOVE with the Heartwarming DSP so I wanted to use that as the background for my card. I also thought it would be fun to use some of the dies from Forever Flourishing. I cut out several of the leaves with the Festive Felt, Old Olive cardstock and Gold glimmer paper. These were all placed around a gold hoop. I've used these fun hoops way more than I thought I would. They are such a fun touch to the card.

I used the Wrapped in Texture embossing folder on Shimmery white cardstock. This is such a great embossing folder! Grab it now while it's on sale!

The sentiment is from Wrapped in Christmas and it's stamped on Sahara Sand card stock. The finishing touch is some Gold Glimmer dots. Love these as well!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

GDP #267 - Theme Challenge: Hot Drinks

Hello! It's a tad dusty over here, haha!! I just haven't had the energy to craft as much as I would have liked plus I'm re-organizing my craft area so that is just a HUGE mess which makes it harder to put a quick card together. But I've been itching to do some crafting so I made some space in the mess and played along with the Global Design Project challenge. After not crafting for a while, I find that the challenges help to get my mojo going.

The challenge this week at Global Design Project is a theme challenge. The theme this week is Hot Drinks. See the challenge HERE. This was perfect since I recently received the Warm Hugs bundle so I wanted to play with that.

So I used the Warm Hugs stamp set along with the Heartwarming Hugs DSP. Love this paper and stamp set. Aren't those little coffee cups so cute!! I plan to add a coffee gift card to the inside of the card. I sure hope whoever receives this enjoys this pretty card! :)

One of my favorite things on this card is the red felt from the Festive Felt pack. And I love the ribbon, which is from the All the Trimmings combo pack. The coordination of the different elements from the different product suites in the catalog is so great! One thing to note is the red gems are retired but could easily be replaced with the Wonderful Gems from the Holiday catalog. (I just don't have those yet).

I hope you enjoy today's card and it puts you in the holiday spirit! Our tree is up already so we are in the spirit!!

Have a great day!

GDP #253 - Color Challenge

Hello!! I am a guest stamper over at this week's Global Design Project challenge. Woo hoo! I won last month's challenge so I get the honor of participating with the Design Team on this month's color challenge. Check out the challenge HERE. And what a great color combo it is this week!

These are fun colors this week! They scream bright and summery to me! I decided to go with making a Happy Birthday card. I wanted to use the Playful Alphabet dies to make a card. Here is my creation below.

I stamped the line image from the set in versamark on Bumble Bee cardstock and embossed to get the stripes on Happy. I added that on to a die cut from the Hippo and Friends dies. Then I used the Well Written Dies to cut out birthday in Granny Apple Green.

I stamped the hearts from the Pattern Play stamp set in Granny Apple Green and then cut them out. The background paper is from the Playing with Patterns DSP. I just love those Calypso Coral polka dots. And the finishing touch on the card is the In Color enamel dots.
How fun are these colors together?? Play along with the Global Design Team this week for a chance to become next month's guest designer!

Have a great day!

Stampin' Fancy Friday - Sweet Suites Challenge

Hello! Today I am here to share my card for the Stampin' Fancy Friday challenge for July. I'm a little late in posting on the blog but you can still use the challenge as inspiration for you next card! July's challenge is focusing on one of our favorite product suites from the new catalog. It was hard for me to pick but I really fell in love with the Playing with Patterns suite. The Playful Alphabet Dies are the cutest letters ever! They are the perfect size and are really a playful font.

I decided to make a shaker card. I cut out "THANK" on a piece of Night of Navy card stock. I used the line image from the stamp set to stamp several lines in Night of Navy ink on the card stock. Then I added a window sheet behind the word. I used the foam adhesive strips and added it to the back of the Night of Navy cardstock. I placed a bunch of sequins on the Playing with Patterns DSP and then adhered the Night of Navy piece on top.

I then cut out "YOU" with another piece of  Playing with Patterns DSP and the Foam adhesive sheets. I added these letters right under "THANK"

To finish off the card, I added some of the Playing with Patterns Resin dots in Purple Posy (LOVE THESE!!!) and Night of Navy ribbon from the Playing with Patterns ribbon combo pack.

Have you played with this product suite yet? Which one is your favorite? Grab your favorite suite and play along with the Stampin' Fancy Friday challenge!

Hello Purple Unicorn!

Happy Thursday! I have the cutest card to share today! Since I've been working from home and having the kids home all day every day, it's been a little harder to be able to craft for a decent chunk of time. So this card took a couple of days putting it together in bits and pieces, ha! But I love how it came out.

To start, I cut strips of Magenta Madness, Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo card stock. I layered this on a piece of white card stock and then die cut it with the Stitched Rectangles die. Once that was done, I die cut the squiggles from the Hippo and Friends Die in Pool Party card stock.

I stamped the unicorn in Highland Heather ink and used dimensionals to add it to another die cut from the Hippo and Friends dies. The sentiment is from Forever Fern and is stamped on Purple Posy card stock. I then used the Classic Label punch to punch it out.

For the finishing touch, I added Purple Posy ribbon from the Playing with Patterns ribbon pack. This ribbon ties like a dream, I love it! Then I added some of the Playing with Patterns resin dots.

Isn't this such a fun girly card?! I love all of these colors paired together.

Have a great day!

GDP #249 - Color Challenge Unicorn!

Update: Thanks to the Global Design Project team for picking my card as a winner this week!!

Happy Friday! I'm happy to share another card with you this week. That's 2 cards in one week. It's been a while since I've done that! I just had to play with the new Hippo Happiness bundle. The animals is this set are adorable. Of course the first one I chose had to be the unicorn. I decided to play with this week's Global Design Project color challenge. Challenge HERE.

These are really pretty colors together. So I now present my card with these colors!

The card base is the new Misty Moonlight. This is a nice pretty blue color. The unicorn is stamped in Petal Pink (with a touch of Calypso Coral on top......eeek! I had to squeeze in a darker color for the unicorn body).  Behind the unicorn I die cut the squiggles in Pool Party card stock. These cute little things are included in the Hippo and Friends Dies. The white label behind the unicorn is also from that set.

On the Misty Moonlight card stock, I stamped the little star splatter image with versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I stamped one of the sentiments in gray ink on Petal Pink card stock and cut out all of the words.

If you look closely you can see that I used the Misty Moonlight baker's twine and colored the white part of the twine with my Pool Party blend. That's a neat little touch!

And to finish the card I added a few of the Elegant Faceted Gems. These are great gems too. Stampin' Up! really has a bunch of fun new embellishments in the new catalog! Of course I had to get them all and try them out on all of my cards! :)

I hope you enjoyed this cute little unicorn. Have a wonderful weekend!

Playful Pups

Hello, it's Wednesday! For some reason this week seems to be dragging on a bit slower than usual. Oh well, at least I have a super cute card to share. I'm using the Playful Pets set again. But this time I'm using the adorable dog image. Isn't that dog so fun?! I love how this card came out.

I did something fun with the dogs on this card. If you notice in the set the dog image is facing in one  direction but on my card one of the dogs (top right) is facing in the opposite direction. To achieve this look you will need a few supplies; a silicone craft sheet, the Stamparatus, card stock and the ink of your choosing. First, I stamped the dog onto the silicone sheet that is secured on the Stamparatus, then I layered Whisper White cardstock on top of the silicone sheet. I added more ink to the stamp (making sure to keep it in the stamp position on the clear plate of the Stamparatus) and then I stamped the dog again. When you do this you will end up with the dog image on both sides of the card stock. Next, you will die cut the dog. After you cut out the dog you can turn him over so that he faces towards the other dogs. I then colored all the dogs with my Stampin' Blends.

I thought it would be fun to place the dogs in several positions on the squares and I think it came out cute. The DSP is all from the Playful Pets pack. The sentiment is from Manly Mates and is stamped on Gray Granite card stock. I die cut the sentiment with one of the dies from Hippo and Friends dies. Can't wait to play with that set next!! For the finishing touch I added Misty Moonlight baker's twine from the Flowers for Every Season ribbon pack and some In Color Enamel dots.

I hope you enjoyed these fun pups!

Playful Pets

Hello, happy Wednesday! Today's card features another fun new bundle from the new catalog. The Playful Pets suite is so cute! Yesterday's Stampin Through the Catalog challenge features the Pampered Pets stamp set.

I started the card with the cute cat. I actually didn't stamp that cat, I cut it out from the DSP. I love having the option to cut out images from the DSP.

If you look closely you can see another piece of the DSP on the side of the card (the black and white DSP). I stamped the sentiment from the set two times, once in black and once in Real Red. Then I die cut "a real treat" with the Stitched Rectangle dies. The paws are also part of the dies from the Pets Dies set. Aren't they adorable??

I splattered the Coastal Cabana card stock with the Bermuda Bay blender for some extra texture Then I added a fun bow with the Playful Pets trim combo pack and then some Playing with Patterns resin dots. There are so many great new embellishments from the new catalog. I can't tell you what my favorites are just yet because I love them all.

I hope you enjoyed today's card.

Have a great day!

Father's Day!

Hello, Happy Tuesday! I'm sharing my cards that I made for Father's Day this year. I should have shared them last week but I didn't get a chance. But this layout was super easy and fun to replicate for other cards. I used the new Playful Alphabets dies to create these cards. This is such a fun die cut set. I really didn't need another letters set but these are small and the font is so fun! I combined this set with the Well Written dies as well. I can tell I will be using these 2 sets together a lot!

Another fun new item I used on these cards is the Foam Adhesive sheets. I cut black cardstock to layer on top of the adhesive sheet. Then I layered all of the dies on the sheet and ran it through the big shot. It was great to have all of these letters pop on the card! Now that I'm thinking about it, I should have used it on the "happy" gold foil sheet as well. Oh well, I'll try that next time! The word "day" is from the Well Said stamp set. I stamped "Father's Day" in versarmark on Bermuda Bay card stock and embossed with white embossing powder. Then I just cut out the word day.

The word "Father's" was layered on top of a Stitched Nested label die that was stamped with one of the images from the Pattern Play stamp set. The DSP on the yellow card is from the Playing with Patterns set and on the green card it's from the Forever Greenery set. The gray on each card is from the In Good Taste set. I know I will be using the DSP from that set a lot!

The ribbon I used was the Denim Ribbon and the Misty Moonlight twine from the Flowers for Every Season combo pack. I love mixing and matches elements from the different product suites. And for once I did not add any sequins, dots or gems. I probably could have but decided to keep them off for these cards. :)

Is everyone enjoying the new catalog? Hope you liked these cards!

Have a wonderful day!

Sunflowers Blessing

Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. The weather was fantastic here. Today's card features the Jar of Flowers stamp set again. This time I took one of the flower images and stamped it several times on white cardstock. Then I colored the flowers with Stampin Blends. It took a bit of time to color in the flowers but I love how the background paper came out! After coloring in all of the flowers I added some splatter with the Pool Party blend. I wanted some of the white spaces to be filled in a bit.

After coloring, I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut out Pool Party and Coastal Cabana cardstock. On the Coastal Cabana cardstock I embossed the sentiment from So Sentimental in white embossing powder.

I layered all of these pieces on top of In Good Taste DSP. I also added a pretty bow using ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season ribbon combo pack. That Just Jade gingham ribbon is so cute and matches nicely with the other turquoise colors on the card! And for the final finishing touch, I added Champagne Rhinestone basic jewels.

What are your favorites from the new catalog?? I have new items arriving tomorrow so hopefully I'll have a chance to play more!

Have a wonderful day!

Jar of Flowers Birthday Card

Hello! The new Stampin' Up! catalog is live and it's fantastic!! As usual, Stampin' Up! has hit it out of the park with their new sets. The first set I am using is called Jar of Flowers and it comes in a bundle with a fun mason jar punch.

I stamped the jar and flowers in Gray Granite and colored in the flowers with various Stampin Blends. These flowers from the set are so pretty and so fun to color. I love how the jars in the set are reversible stamps. This means that I can turn the stamp over and use it to color the water in the jar. How fun is that!!

Some of the other new items I used was the super pretty Forever Greenery (green strip) and In Good Taste (wood grain) DSP. I think I will be using the In Good Taste DSP A LOT!! I paired that with Pretty Peacock card stock that was embossed with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder. The finishing touches include ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season combo pack and In-Color enamel dots.

Are you in love with this new set already too! Have you received a copy of the catalog yet? If not, contact me and I will get one sent out to you.

Have a wonderful day!

May Paper Pumpkin Alternative

Hello! We are still having some weather here so I feel like spring is finally here to stay!! Yay! Yesterday in the mail, I received my Paper Pumpkin kit for May. It's been a while since I've been part of the Paper Pumpkin family but since we've been at home the past couple of months, I thought it was a good time to rejoin. My daughter has been into making cards a lot lately so I thought these kits would be fun for her to help put together. I love that these kits have everything you need to put together some cute projects! This month's kit was extra special because it included the new 2020 - 2021 In Colors. These new colors are so great!! Just Jade, Bumble Bee, Cinnamon Cider, Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight are the new colors. So far I think Magenta Madness is my favorite but I'm sure it will change over time!

For my first card, I decided to mix things up a bit and use pieces from the different cards to put my own card together. For some reason, I like coming up with my own cards before making them according to the instructions. But the cards that are shown are also super cute and I will be doing those next!

For more information on signing up for Paper Pumpkin, please contact me. These kits are great if you want to do some crafting but don't feel like making a big mess. Everything you need comes in the box so it's perfect for crafting in the living or outside on a nice day!

Have a wonderful day!

Hello! I'm back on this gorgeous sunny day with another Peaceful Poppies card. I used the Peaceful Poppies DSP again along with the the black and white stripe paper from the Golden Honey Specialty DSP from Sale-a-bration. I cut the black and white strip paper with one of the dies from Stitched So Sweetly.

I then cut two poppies using Purple Posy card stock (my favorite) and leaves using Mossy Meadow and Old Olive card stock. The "thanks" sentiment is from the Well Written dies. I finished off the card with Mossy Meadow twine, Black Glittered ribbon and Iridescent sequins.

This card was pretty quick to put together and would be a great way to use up your DSP. I love mixing and matching different DSPs and finding fun color combinations.

I would love to see you CASE this card and come up with your own mix matched DSP combos.

Have a great day!!

Mother's Day Cards

Hello! I know it's been quite a while since I've posted. At the beginning of this quarantine in March, time was moving like molasses but somehow since April, time has been flying by. Work, homeschooling and other random chores have wiped me out so by the end of the day, I'm beat and not up for crafting. But I managed to find some time and energy this past week to make mother's day cards. I know we are past mother's day but I still wanted to share the cards as the sentiments could be easily swapped for birthday, thank you, etc.

Again, I used the Peaceful Poppies suite. One of my favorites of all time. I love all the colors in the papers and the dies are fantastic. As you can see I used the same layout for both cards but just used different papers from the pack.

I used Night of Navy as the base for both cards. The flowers and leaves were die cut with the Poppy Moments dies and DSP. The flowers/leaves were then layered on Sparkle Glimmer paper that was die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

The sentiment is from Well Said and is stamped on Petal Pink card stock that was punched with the Classic Label Punch. Additional touches to the cards are a strip of Purple Posy linen ribbon, a Mossy Meadow linen thread bow and Champagne Rhinestone basic jewels.

Make sure you stock up on this paper before it's gone by the end of the month. Although I have to tell you the new catalog has some great DSP.

Stay tuned as I will have another card to share this week with the Peaceful Poppies suite. I made this card a while ago but just never found the time to share it.

Thanks for stopping by!

TGIFC258 - Rainbow Hello

Hello! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. We enjoyed another weekend on quarantine but at least the weather was nice so we got outside for a bit. I also made my first batch of macarons with my daughter so that was fun. For my first time I think they came out pretty good. My daughter and I also spent some time making cards. It's her favorite thing to do lately. She made some cards for her friends and cousin and I played along with the TGIF challenge. This week's challenge was a color challenge - rainbow was the color!

I love making rainbow cards. Plus who couldn't use a rainbow card right now to brighten your day.

I used one of the hearts from the Be Mine Dies and cut them out in Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Pineapple Punch, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, and Blushing Bride card stock. Isn't it so pretty?!

Behind the hearts is Dazzling Glimmer paper cut with the Stitched Nested Labels dies. And all of that is layered on a piece of the Golden Honey Specialty DSP.

The sentiment is from Seriously The Best. I stamped it on black card stock and embossed with white embossing powder. After I cut out the sentiment I added several strips of ribbon: Denim Ribbon, Purple Posy Linen Ribbon and Whisper White Polka Dot tulle ribbon.

After I put the card together, I looked through all of my embellishments and added enamel dots in various colors to the hearts along with some rhinestone jewels.

I love a pretty rainbow card. I hope to do some more rainbow cards soon!

Stay safe and healthy!
