Fancy Friday - Shake It Challenge

Happy Friday!! I'm excited to announce that I am a part of a super fabulous team called Stampin' Fancy Friday!! This team is made up of current and past Artisan designers and will be sure to blow you away with all of their creativity. Each month the team will bring our followers a fancy challenge to inspire you to get creative.

We're shaking things up this year on the Fancy Friday Design Team! This will be our last official 'blog hop' because we're moving in a new direction! We'll be posting a challenge on the first Friday of every month over on Instagram and Facebook. And then we'll show you our team projects as the month progresses. We can't wait to have you around so any time you're inspired by our challenge, tag us in or use hashtag Instagram and Facebook - @stampinfancyfriday. Stay inspired. See you there!

This month our challenge is a Shake it Challenge. The challenge is to create a project that shakes cause we are shaking things up on the Fancy Friday Design Team for 2020! Could be a shaker card, use a tassle on a card, jar of tags, whatever you what to make shake.

Now on to what you've been waiting for. The card that I created for this month's challenge. I decided to make another shaker card because who doesn't love seeing a bunch of sequins shaking around!

I used the Dino Days Bundle to make this super cute birthday card. Who wouldn't love receiving a card with this cute dino on it. If you look at the close up picture below you can see I used the Sparkle glimmer paper to give the card some extra sparkle!

This bundle is one of my favorites from the annual catalog. For the background, I cut several strips of the Dinoraur DSP. There are so many fun and bright papers in this pack and this is a fun way to use several of them. The sentiment is from the Well Said stamp set and Well Written Dies.

Be sure to check out all of the fabulous cards the team is creating. Next up is AurĂ©lie Fabre.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will join us for the challenge this month. I can't wait to see what you all create.

Happy Love Day!

Hello! It's Thursday and nearly the end of January! This month flew by and Valentine's day is almost upon us! I don't have any of the new Valentine's sets from the mini catalog but I looked through the annual catalog to see what I did have and I put together a lovely card. While I always like using new things, sometimes it's not possible to have it all! GASP, I know!! The Stitched Be Mine framelits from the catalog last year were one of my favorites. Look at that strip of open hearts! How can you not love that?!?

So I used a bunch of those dies for this card. I started with Gold Foil paper for the open hearts. For the large scallop heart, I used Sparkle glimmer paper. The other hearts were done with Flirty Flamingo card stock and Gold glimmer paper.

Since I didn't have any Valentine sentiments that were large enough for my liking, I remembered the "love" die cut from the Well Written dies and knew it would work perfectly! I cut it out with Coastal Cabana cardstock and I also stamped Happy and day on that cardstock as well. The DSP behind the hearts is one of the papers from the Golden Honey Specialty DSP from the SAB catalog. A simple black and white background is perfect for all of these hearts!

Do you still use the Stitched Be Mine dies? If not, bring them out and make some heart cards for those you love.

Have a great day!!

Be Mine Shaker Heart Card

Hello, Happy Tuesday! I have a super fun shaker card to share with you. I had done a version of this card last year using different colors. See the post HERE for the card I made last year.  I had a request to share some instructions so I figured I should make another version while I write up the tutorial. I decided to go with a different color scheme, something a little more manly. Although I'm sure anyone would enjoy a cute card like this.

Look at all of those sequins! Don't you just love a shaker card?!? I'm not going to go into too many details as I've written a lot of them out in the tutorial so I'll just share another picture.

I hope you like today's card. If you are interested in receiving a tutorial on how to make the shaker, please send me a message and I'll email it to you. :)

Have a wonderful day!!

Thankful Poppies

Hello! Today I'm sharing a card with the fun Painted Poppies set. I'm a sucker for a floral sets and this one is a must! It's kind of a simple card with minimal layers and colors. I wanted to focus on the flowers.

I stamped the large poppy in Gorgeous Grape ink and then used my aqua painter to add Grapefruit Groove ink. The aqua painter pulled in some of the Gorgeous Grape color and I love the effect it gives. The small flower was stamped in Lovely Lipstick and watercolored with So Saffron ink. The leaves were stamped in Coastal Cabana and colored with Soft Sea Foam ink. Isn't that fun!

I cut out a scalloped rectangle from Stitched So Sweetly dies. I told you these will be used quite a bit! On top of the scallop I splattered Pool Party ink from my Stampin' Up! Write markers. Also, if you notice under the sentiment I die cut the swirls from the Painted Labels dies.

Once I added everything to Whisper White thick cardstock, I added some sequins from the Woven Threads assortment.

I hope you enjoyed this floral card. I'll be back shortly with a cute Valentine shaker card!

Have a great day!

So Sentimental Poppies

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone is off to a wonderful start for 2020. I am hoping to kick off a craftier 2020. I seemed to be a a bit of a craft slump towards the end of 2019. As much as I wanted to make cards, I just couldn't seem to get motivated. I started a new job in August and then there was just the everyday busyness of work, school for the kids and kids activities. Plus my craft area is a bit of a disaster and needs tons of cleaning/organizing so I haven't wanted to tackle that in order to craft. It's still a mess but I have cleaned up enough so that I can play with items from the new 2020 Mini Catalog. You can start ordering from the new catalog today. There are lots of fun new products in the catalog. For today's card, I started with some of my favorite items.

I used the Peaceful Poppies DSP for the background of the card. The colors in these papers are gorgeous!! I used one of the more plain pieces in the package so I could show off the wonderful Poppy Moments Dies. The poppy was die cut with Petal Pink and Poppy Parade cardstock. If you look closely at the center of the flower, I added Wink of Stella to the black to make it pop. The leaves were die cut with Soft Sea Foam and Granny Apple Green cardstock.

Another new item you may notice is the super cute scallop rectangle. This is from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. They are great!! There are several different sized rectangle scallops which are just the right accent. The sentiment is from the So Sentimental stamp set. I can tell this bundle is going to get lots of use. Between the  rectangle dies and the great sentiments and fonts, you can't go wrong.

It feels good to get back into crafting. My goal for this year is to keep it up and not have such a long break.

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to go and check out the new catalog. Click on the catalog links to the right. And if you need a paper copy in your hands, contact me and I will get one to you.

Have a great day!
