Petal Palette Frosted Floral Thank you Card

Hello! I'm back with another project using the Frosted Floral DSP. I hope you're not tired of it yet. :) It's just so pretty I couldn't help but make another card using some of the shimmery designs. I paired the paper with the Petal Palette stamp set.

I stamped the cute little bird in Night of Navy ink and then with my aqua painter, filled in the white spots with the same color ink. I used the die cuts to cut out the bird and the floral image behind the bird. After I die cut the floral image, all of the pieces were still attached, so I liked how that looked and decided to keep it like that. This just goes to show you the multiple uses you can have with the thinlits. Then I cut a Petal Pink Stitched Shape circle and stamped it with the dot image from the set. The sentiment was stamped in Mint Macaroon.

This card came together fairly quickly and would be fun to put together in other colors with other DSP. (I may have to try that out soon - stay tuned!)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

TGIF Challenges #172 - Frosted Floral Thank You

Hello! I am back sharing another project I made during my crafty weekend. :) I wanted to use the new Frosted Floral DSP again since it is so pretty. I played along with the TGIF challenges. You can find the challenge HERE.

This was a really fun sketch to do. It's a great one to showcase DSP. I stamped the sentiment from the Stitched All Around stamp set in Blackberry Bliss and cut it out with the coordinating circle die cut from the Stitched Labels framelits. I then used a die from the Eastern Medallion thinlits to layer behind the circle. I added some new ribbon - Tranquil Tide velvet ribbon and then a little Tranquil Tide stitched heart. Isn't it cute?!? Before I added the "flower" I stamped the dot image from the set on the Blackberry Bliss card stock with Blackberry Bliss ink. It's been a while since I've used this color. I am loving it paired with this DSP.

Another fun little die included in Stitched Labels framelits is one of the straight line stitching dies. It makes these cute little x's on the card stock. To finish off the card I added a few clear faceted gems. I think I've only used 1 or 2 of these gems before. I don't know why I haven't used them more often. They are great and add such an elegant touch to the card.

Frosted Floral Love - Wall Art

Happy Monday! Where oh where did the weekend go? It always goes by so fast. This weekend was low key for us, which was nice. I was actually able to get crafty! I got some goodies from the new upcoming holiday catalog and I had to get to work! I was able to make 3 things this weekend!! That is a lot!! In the past few months, I've barely made like 3 cards, let alone 3 projects in one weekend. The stars must have aligned for me, ha!

In the new holiday catalog, there is a cute project that is similar to the one I'm sharing today. I loved the idea of making a framed piece. So I took inspiration from Stampin' Up!'s project and put my own spin on it. A few of the fun new things on this project are the Tin Tile embossing folder, Galvanized metal paper and that gorgeous Frosted Floral paper. This floral paper is fantastic! Of course I love all floral papers but all of the papers in this pack are so shimmery.

As soon as I saw this paper, I knew I wanted to use it to make a home decor piece. I've had a frame in my living room empty for months because I wasn't sure what photo I was going to put in there. But then I had the idea to use this frame for my home decor project I wanted to make. One of the floral papers in the pack was the perfect accent to greenish/grayish color on my living room walls.

The rest of the project was based off of the colors in the paper. The letters were done in Soft Sea Foam and the Stitched Label behind it is with Mint Macaroon. After I stamped and die cut the letters, I felt that it needed more. Then I came across the Ribbon of Courage stamp set and I stamped "Live", "Laugh" and "every day" from one of the images in versamark and embossed with white powder.

Once it was complete, I added it to the cute frame that has been sitting empty. Sorry for the darkish photo. I had the hardest time taking a picture of it on the wall. The lighting was not very good in that area of my living room. You will also notice the other frames that are lacking photos, haha! I'm working on those.

Have a great day!

Just Add Ink #420 - Rainbow Balloon

Hello! Happy Monday! We had a hot weekend here in the north east and some more hot weather is expected the next few days. We did a bunch of swimming as well as cooling off inside in the AC. So I was able to have a few minutes to play in this week's Just Add Ink challenge. Once I saw the challenge, I had to play. I couldn't resist the rainbow of colors and coming up with a card for that.

I had gotten some new Blends last week and I decided to use some of those for the challenge. First I grabbed a bunch of markers in a rainbow of colors: Lovely Lipstick, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, Highland Heather and Flirty Flamingo. I used these colors to color on Shimmer White card stock.

Then I took the Up & Away thinlits to cut up the rainbow I colored. I took those pieces and glued them behind the detailed hot air balloon. It came out so cool right!? I also cut a few clouds from shimmer white card stock to add to the Pool Party base. I used the new subtle embossing folder on that to give it some extra texture. I was also able to finally use the Gorgeous Grape mini striped ribbon. I love the color of this ribbon and I've been dying to use it, it just hasn't matched any of my recent cards. I think it pairs well with the rainbow of colors today. And my final touch was some of the new basic adhesive-backed sequins. These are so easy to use on cards. Just peel and stick!

I hope this rainbow card brightened up your day! Thanks for stopping by.
