Home Sampler Frame

Hello! Happy Friday!! I have another super fun craft fair item to share with you today. I love how this came out! And I have a ton of pictures for you as well!

I've seen these Home samplers and I've wanted to make my own for a while. I bought this frame at Michaels and at first I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. Even the woman ringing me up at Michaels asked what do you do with this?? Because it's a wood frame with 1 piece of glass so actually I'm not really sure what the purpose is but I thought it would work great for my Home sign.

I cut out letters using the Wood textures DSP. I glued the DSP onto a piece of cardboard that was die cut as well to make the letters thicker. Then I added dimensionals and hot glued them onto the glass.
I also cut out letters to glue to the back of the glass so you didn't see the dimensionals and glue on the other side.

Then I got to work on all of the inserts that I was going to do in place of the letter O.

As you can see in the picture above, I hot glued a magnet to the glass and added magnets to each oval. So that makes it easy peasy to change them out for each holiday/occasion.

I did 10 holidays/occasions total. I thought about doing a different one for each month but I figured you could keep some of them up for longer than 1 month so 10 different designs would work great.

Most of the dies I used are current with the exception of a few. I had fun coming up with the ideas for each of the holidays. Some were ideas that I had seen done by previous demos, others were things that I just put together with items I had.

If you look at the close up of some of the ovals, I put wink of stella on certain parts for some extra shimmer. Each one has some kind of shimmer, sequins, ribbon, etc to make it pop!

I love how each one came out that it's hard to pick a favorite one. But if I have to, I'd probably go with the butterfly or daisy one. Which one is your favorite?

And for now, I'm selling this at a upcoming craft fair even though it would look super cute in my house!! But that just means, I'll have to make another one for my house if this one doesn't sell!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Welcome Home Decor

Hello! I'm back again with another home decor piece. As I mentioned in a previous post, I am participating in a craft fair at the end of the month at a local brewery. I wanted to have a few home decor items for sale along with my cards. I feel like people are more interested in home decor pieces than cards. But I guess we'll see how the event turns out. Maybe I'll be left with a bunch of home decor pieces that I will need to add around my house, haha!

For today's item, I spruced up a wood piece that I got from Michaels. I cut the letter from the Large Letters framelits. I actually cut 3 of each letter so that each letter had some thickness to it when I glued it on the board. I also stamped part of the letters with one of the butterflies from Butterfly Gala to give it a little pattern.

The daisies were punched using the Daisy punch. Behind the daisies are some leaves that were punched with Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist card stock. I also added a swirly green leaf that was die cut with Mossy Meadow card stock.

For the finishing touches I added some flower wood elements (retired) with a Gold Faceted gem in the middle. I also added a few Iridescent sequins. I will find any place to add those sequins, ha! I think those are probably one of my most used crafting items!

Everything on the wood was adhered with a glue gun with the exception of the sequins because those were a little more tedious to glue with the glue gun. Also, to give the letters dimension, I still used Mini Dimensionals on the back and just added a dot of hot glue to each dimensional.

I had so much fun making this! It's so fun to come up with other ways to use paper besides making cards. I have one more home decor item that I'm working on and hope to share this week. And after that I have plans for one final home decor piece if I have time. So for the rest of this month anything I share will probably be craft fair related. :)

Have a great day!

Decorated Note Pads

It's hump day!! I'm back sharing another group of items for my upcoming craft fair I'm attending. While I was searching pinterest for craft fairs items, I came across these little notepads that Angie Juda put together. LINK. I thought they were super cute and look easy to put together. Plus I knew that I had all the supplies I needed to make them right away. She uses coaster boards for her notebooks. I didn't have any of that but I found a bunch of card board that I had saved from My Paper Pumpkin boxes. This is one of those times, something useless I saved was turned into a project! :) The white note books were also items that I bought a while ago but never did anything with.

Originally I was going to use DSP from different packs but then as I was looking through the Share What You Love DSP stack, I found so many that I wanted to use, that I just stuck with the paper from this pack. I also like this paper because it's a little thicker than the regular DSP.

The front and back of the notepads use different paper. That's the fun thing about Stampin' Up! DSP, the 2 sides have different designs but coordinate so well together. I had a ton of binder clips at home that I have gotten from work so I dressed them up with the DSP as well. I added some coordinating ribbon (some of the notepads use retired ribbon) and a sweet little flower blossom.

If you notice, the flower blossom above isn't one of the colors you receive. I didn't like how any of the colors matched this particular DSP so I colored the Petal Pink flower with my Blackberry Bliss blends marker. Fun right!

Here is a look at the rest of the notepads I put together.

Aren't they so cute!! I think I'm going to take one of these to have at my desk at work. Maybe it will make my day more exciting to write some notes on a cute note pad!! :)

What do you think? Which one is your favorite??

Happy Home - Wall Decor

It's Monday again, just like that! Why do the weekends have to go by so quickly! I want more time to be lazy with the kids, haha! And I want more craft time!! I found some time yesterday to run downstairs and get crafty. I am doing a craft fair at a local brewery at the end of March so I want to have some items besides cards to sell. I've had this wood piece from Michael's for months now and haven't done anything with it. I knew I wanted to make a decor piece but I wasn't sure what I was going to do. I was feeling inspired yesterday and came up with this happy Home piece. How cute is it??

I used the Large Letter Framelits, Well Written Framelits, Be Mine Framelits and Tin Tile embossing folder. After looking back at this, I realized I did no stamping on it. But that's ok. It was fun using all of the different dies from the Well Written framelits. The little butterfly, bird and leaves are just adorable. And really once I figured out what elements I wanted to use, it didn't take that long to put together. Now I'm going to have to see if Michael's has these boards in other wood styles so I can make another one with different colors.

And now I'll show you a bunch of close ups of the project.

The little flowers have Happiness Blooms enamel dots as their centers. These enamel dots come in such fun colors!

Here you can see the embossing on the heart. The little bird also has a Happiness Blooms enamel dot for his eye.

After I die cut the heart, I added a Heart Epoxy droplet for a little shine. The butterflies have pearls in the center of their bodies.

What do you think? Have you guys made projects with only die cuts and no stamping? What have you done with the Well Said bundle?

Share your projects with me! I'd love to see them.
