Happy Home - Wall Decor

It's Monday again, just like that! Why do the weekends have to go by so quickly! I want more time to be lazy with the kids, haha! And I want more craft time!! I found some time yesterday to run downstairs and get crafty. I am doing a craft fair at a local brewery at the end of March so I want to have some items besides cards to sell. I've had this wood piece from Michael's for months now and haven't done anything with it. I knew I wanted to make a decor piece but I wasn't sure what I was going to do. I was feeling inspired yesterday and came up with this happy Home piece. How cute is it??

I used the Large Letter Framelits, Well Written Framelits, Be Mine Framelits and Tin Tile embossing folder. After looking back at this, I realized I did no stamping on it. But that's ok. It was fun using all of the different dies from the Well Written framelits. The little butterfly, bird and leaves are just adorable. And really once I figured out what elements I wanted to use, it didn't take that long to put together. Now I'm going to have to see if Michael's has these boards in other wood styles so I can make another one with different colors.

And now I'll show you a bunch of close ups of the project.

The little flowers have Happiness Blooms enamel dots as their centers. These enamel dots come in such fun colors!

Here you can see the embossing on the heart. The little bird also has a Happiness Blooms enamel dot for his eye.

After I die cut the heart, I added a Heart Epoxy droplet for a little shine. The butterflies have pearls in the center of their bodies.

What do you think? Have you guys made projects with only die cuts and no stamping? What have you done with the Well Said bundle?

Share your projects with me! I'd love to see them.

All My Love Home Decor

Hello! I am back again with some new stuff to share. I actually made this well before Christmas when I got some of my pre-order items from convention. But I didn't want to share it until after Christmas when everyone was ready for some Valentine's decor. My inspiration for this came from something I designed back in August (wow, I didn't realize it was that long ago when I made that). You can find it HERE. I used the same words, layout, etc but just changed it up with some new Valentine's DSP. I enjoy making these and it's fun to switch out the art on my frame wall in my living room. I will definitely have to start thinking of what to make for after Valentine's day. Should it be Easter or Spring themed or do one of each? What do you think?

For this Valentine's one I started with Lovely Lipstick card stock as the base. The DSP is from the All my Love pack. If you look closely, you can see that behind the large DSP piece I die cut some flowers from the Lovely Flowers Edgelits dies. It's actually the die that is the corner looking one (see pic below). I cut out 2 of them for each corner. I think it adds a fun little touch.

The rest of the wall art is done the same way as the previous one. I added some of the new All My Love ribbon from the combo pack and sequins (of course).

The frame that I put this is works so well for these kinds of wall art. (Here is the link to the frame at Michael's) However, it's impossible to get a good picture of while it's in the frame on my wall. But this homemade piece really sets off my gallery of frames on the wall. I can't wait to get started on my next one.

Have you made any wall art? What should my next one be?

Stay tuned, I'll have some more Valentine's decor coming your way....hopefully this week!

Have a great day!

Frosted Floral Love - Wall Art

Happy Monday! Where oh where did the weekend go? It always goes by so fast. This weekend was low key for us, which was nice. I was actually able to get crafty! I got some goodies from the new upcoming holiday catalog and I had to get to work! I was able to make 3 things this weekend!! That is a lot!! In the past few months, I've barely made like 3 cards, let alone 3 projects in one weekend. The stars must have aligned for me, ha!

In the new holiday catalog, there is a cute project that is similar to the one I'm sharing today. I loved the idea of making a framed piece. So I took inspiration from Stampin' Up!'s project and put my own spin on it. A few of the fun new things on this project are the Tin Tile embossing folder, Galvanized metal paper and that gorgeous Frosted Floral paper. This floral paper is fantastic! Of course I love all floral papers but all of the papers in this pack are so shimmery.

As soon as I saw this paper, I knew I wanted to use it to make a home decor piece. I've had a frame in my living room empty for months because I wasn't sure what photo I was going to put in there. But then I had the idea to use this frame for my home decor project I wanted to make. One of the floral papers in the pack was the perfect accent to greenish/grayish color on my living room walls.

The rest of the project was based off of the colors in the paper. The letters were done in Soft Sea Foam and the Stitched Label behind it is with Mint Macaroon. After I stamped and die cut the letters, I felt that it needed more. Then I came across the Ribbon of Courage stamp set and I stamped "Live", "Laugh" and "every day" from one of the images in versamark and embossed with white powder.

Once it was complete, I added it to the cute frame that has been sitting empty. Sorry for the darkish photo. I had the hardest time taking a picture of it on the wall. The lighting was not very good in that area of my living room. You will also notice the other frames that are lacking photos, haha! I'm working on those.

Interested in making one of your own? Contact me to get a copy of the new Holiday catalog coming out in September and I will help you order your products and show you step by step how to make your own wall art.

Have a great day!
