Magical Mermaid

Hello! Yay it's Friday! This is going to be a quick post today but I wanted to share another card I made with the Magical Day set. The images in this set are just too cute! Today I am focusing on this adorable mermaid. I colored her in with various Stampin' Blends markers and die cut her with the coordinating framelits. This time I remembered to use them! :)

A fun thing to note is the glitter "seaweed" is die cut from the Lovely Laurel thinlits. Don't they work great as seaweed or just plants in the sea?

I used lots of new goodies from the Occasions catalog on this card. The sequins are great too because they already have adhesive on the back of them.

If I have some time later, I'll update the post with the supplies. Otherwise I hope you enjoyed this magical card on your Friday!

Have a great day!

Just Add Ink #392 - Magical Day

Happy Monday! Today I decided to play along with the Just Add Ink challenge. This is my first time playing along with their challenges. I like playing along with challenges. It helps to get those creative juices flowing. The challenge this week was to just add something new. Check out the challenge HERE.

My "new" item is several things. First I used some new stamps from the Occasions catalog. How cute is that unicorn. I am in love with the Magical Day stamp set. The images are so cute! The second new thing is that I used the Brusho Crystal Colors. I have never used anything like this before and it was pretty cool. If you're new to Brushos like I am, they are watercolor ink crystals. You wet your paper, sprinkle them on and watch the magic. This was my first time playing so I need to do some more practice but it was fun.

I stamped the unicorn and then colored her in with the blends. And then I was a dummy and cut her out by hand, totally forgetting that there was a framelit to do that work, ha! Oh well. Next time I'll remember. I also used the Myths and Magic glimmer paper. This glimmer paper is so great too. So many fun new items in the new Occasions catalog. If you don't have a catalog, contact me and I'll get one to you ASAP!!

Well that's it for me today. Don't forget to check out the Just Add Ink challenge for this week and play along!

Lift Me Up Valentine's Card

Happy Tuesday! Looks like it might be a snowy Tuesday here in NJ. But I have a fun card to brighten your day.

I knew that I wanted to use the Lift Me Up stamp set with the new Painted Love DSP. I had some ideas in my head but this wasn't what I was thinking at all, haha! But I love how it came out. This paper is so nice and thick. I want to use all of the sheets in the pack!

I stamped the balloons on Pool Party and Bermuda Bay card stock. The heart is stamped on Powder Pink card stock and the clouds are die cut with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. I embossed the sentiment  with white powder on black card stock. I finished off the card with the Pool Party shimmer ribbon and some metallic enamel shapes.

Aren't these colors so great together? And the glimmer clouds really make this card super special.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay warm!

Paper Pumpkin Red Box Challenge

Happy Wednesday! Today's project is for Stampin' Up!'s Red Box Challenge. What is that, you ask? It's a super fun giveaway from the Paper Pumpkin team. You have to create a WOW project with an unused past Paper Pumpkin kit, post it to Facebook or Instagram with #redboxchallenge and you will be entered to win the March kit! How fun is that. And lord knows I have tons of old kits lying around, ha!

I chose to use the March 2016 kit - Pocketful of Cheer.

This kit has lots of fun elements to make several gift cards and cards. I wanted to use the mini treat bag die to make another gift card holder. I LOVE this die. It's one of my favorites. With just a few additional items you can make this too.

I cut the mini treat bag out of Pool Party card stock. Then I used one of the envelopes and die cut that as well so the front of the bag has the floral paper. Inside the mini treat bag, I used one of the card bases cut to 3 1/2 x 5 and added one of the Bermuda Bay belly bands. Then I glued on the gift holder pocket and punched 2 little banners from the gift card enclosure.

The front of the bag also uses one of the gift card enclosures. That was punched with the starburst punch. Two more little tags were added, along with a doily and the bakers twine bow.

I hope you like my WOW Paper Pumpkin project. I'd love to see your projects for this challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

Message in a Bottle - Valentine's Day

Happy Monday!! It's another cold snowy day here. It's only January and I've already had enough of this weather. I cannot wait until the day where I can bring out the flip flops!! But since that is a ways away, lets look at some pretty cards.

I just received the new Painted with Love DSP from the Occasions catalog and I LOVE it! The paper is just so pretty, I had to make 2 cards with it. I can't wait to use it some more. I wanted to make some Valentine's cards and decided to use the Message in a Bottle stamp set. I just recently got this set and haven't used it yet. The images in this set are so fun.

I love the octopus and the coordinating sentiment for him. Hahaha! I stamped him on some Powder Pink card stock which was die cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits. Behind the circle is more DSP punched with the Everyday Label Punch and a strip of mini gold sequins and a Bermuda Bay ribbon.

I stamped the sentiment on Bermuda Bay card stock and cut out each of the words and glued them to the front. The final touch was a Gold metallic enamel heart and some sequins.

For the next card, I used the bottle which I stamped on Berry Burst card stock and embossed with gold embossing powder. The inside of the bottle was stamped on Powder pink card stock and embossed.

The gold embossing makes it look so pretty!

Here is the inside of the card.

Have you used this new DSP yet? What are you thoughts on it?

Thanks for stopping by! Stay warm!!

Party Pandas Meet Tutti Frutti

Happy 2018!! It's the start of a new year and that also means the start of the Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs!! Yay!!

As my time with the Artisan team has ended, I hope to still continue to blog as much as I did last year and to try to get some more classes on the calendar this year. 2017 was an interesting year for me. I had the great honor to be picked for the Artisan Design team. So while that was super exciting, I was also going through some rough patches in my full time job. I was laid off twice from the same company. Laid off in February and was given 12 weeks to find a new job - internal or external. I accepted an internal position in June only to be laid off again in October. What rotten luck, haha!!!  Luckily I was given another 12 weeks to find something and I am happy to say that I have found a new position that I am excited about. So while there was a lot of uncertainty last year, it did give me some of the extra time I needed to commit fully to the Artisan adventure. I guess in some ways everything worked out good.

So with that little recap on me, I have some super cute cards to show you. I am kicking off 2018 with the adorable Party Pandas from the Sale-a-bration catalog. Pandas are my favorite animal so this set was a must have! I decided to pair them with the Tutti Frutti cards and envelopes also from the SAB catalog. I punched 4 starburst circles in Gold glimmer paper and added them to each card. I kept the cards/layouts fairly simple. The complicated part was cutting those pandas but since I like cutting it wasn't too bad.

I thought this little guy would be a cute Valentine's card. A fun thing to note is the heart framelit from Up and Away fits the "Love You" sentiment perfectly. I finished off the card with some Subtle enamel shapes. I used the subtle shapes on all the cards. You could use the Tutti Frutti sequins from the Occasions catalog if you don't have the enamel shapes.

The next guy is ready for a birthday party! The sentiment fits perfectly in the Classic Label punch. (Another must have punch). All of the pandas have a little shading on them, done with the Light Smoky Slate blend marker. I also colored the party balloon with the markers too.

The birthday panda is back again but this time he just wants to say Hi. :) And if you notice I didn't use the matching envelopes with the cards. I thought it looked super fun to match up them with one of the other envelopes from the stack. And how cute are in the insides of these envelopes!

Last up is another guy who's ready to party!! So what do you think of the new SAB goodies and Occasions catalog. What are your favorites??

Want to earn this set for FREE?? Just place a $50 order and these guys can be all yours! If you place a $100 order you can get the pandas and Tutti Frutti cards for FREE. Contact me to place your order for these products and I will throw in the Subtle enamel shapes as a gift from me! (Place your order through me or by selecting me as your Demonstrator).

Happy New Year!!
