Happy Love Day!

Hello! It's Thursday and nearly the end of January! This month flew by and Valentine's day is almost upon us! I don't have any of the new Valentine's sets from the mini catalog but I looked through the annual catalog to see what I did have and I put together a lovely card. While I always like using new things, sometimes it's not possible to have it all! GASP, I know!! The Stitched Be Mine framelits from the catalog last year were one of my favorites. Look at that strip of open hearts! How can you not love that?!?

So I used a bunch of those dies for this card. I started with Gold Foil paper for the open hearts. For the large scallop heart, I used Sparkle glimmer paper. The other hearts were done with Flirty Flamingo card stock and Gold glimmer paper.

Since I didn't have any Valentine sentiments that were large enough for my liking, I remembered the "love" die cut from the Well Written dies and knew it would work perfectly! I cut it out with Coastal Cabana cardstock and I also stamped Happy and day on that cardstock as well. The DSP behind the hearts is one of the papers from the Golden Honey Specialty DSP from the SAB catalog. A simple black and white background is perfect for all of these hearts!

Do you still use the Stitched Be Mine dies? If not, bring them out and make some heart cards for those you love.

Have a great day!!

Be Mine Shaker Heart Card

Hello, Happy Tuesday! I have a super fun shaker card to share with you. I had done a version of this card last year using different colors. See the post HERE for the card I made last year.  I had a request to share some instructions so I figured I should make another version while I write up the tutorial. I decided to go with a different color scheme, something a little more manly. Although I'm sure anyone would enjoy a cute card like this.

Look at all of those sequins! Don't you just love a shaker card?!? I'm not going to go into too many details as I've written a lot of them out in the tutorial so I'll just share another picture.

I hope you like today's card. If you are interested in receiving a tutorial on how to make the shaker, please send me a message and I'll email it to you. :)

Have a wonderful day!!

Valentine's Banner

It's Monday again! These weekends just go by way to fast. Actually the month of January flew by as well! I've actually had this banner hanging on my mantel for a while now, I just haven't had the chance to write up a post about it.

This banner started with the cute heart and pom pom heart garland that I got from Pier 1. It was really cute but I thought it needed something else so I decided to spruce it up with some Stampin' supplies. I used the Be Mine Stitched Framelits along with the Large Letter Framelits to add XOXO to the garland. I used Powder Pink cardstock and the black and white DSP from the Botanical Butterfly DSP. (This DSP is FREE, get it now while you can!)

I did something a little different on each banner but they all have some hearts, a Gold glimmer letter and some Rose Metallic thread.

I also stamped the heart image from Forever Lovely in Powder Pink on each of the banners.

I used the Gold Library clips to attach them to the banner. That way if you wanted to change it out each year you can.

And here is what it looks like on my mantel. It's a cute little addition for Valentine's day. How could you not like some pom poms, hearts and glitter. :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Just Add Ink #440 - Valentine's Shaker Card

Happy Sunday!! The creative juices have been flowing in the past few days so with this wintery weather we've been having, I'm trying to take advantage as much as I can. We've had a wintery mix here so it's great weather to just stay inside and do nothing. The kids gave me the chance to get into my craft room to get crafty. The idea I had in my head for this card, came out just as I wanted. It did take a little trial and error to get there but I think it came out so cute. I decided to use this card as my entry for the Just Add Ink #440 challenge this week. The challenge this week was to add something new. You can find the challenge HERE.

My something "new" was using the Be Mine Framelits dies and the sentiment from January's Paper Pumpkin kit. I had the idea that I wanted to make a shaker heart and I also wanted to use the collection of hearts dies as part of the design. It took me a couple of times to get it right but how cute do all of those hearts look inside the large scalloped heart??

Oh and those little stamped hearts on the Pool Party card stock is from the January Paper Pumpkin kit as well. Aren't those fun! Inside the shaker heart I used a mix of Iridescent Sequin assortment plus some of the Sprinkles sequins from the Occasions catalog 2 years ago I think?

I hope you enjoy this super fun shaker card. Maybe it will brighten you up on this cold gloomy wintery day!

And I'll be back soon to share my Valentine's decor. I just had to share this card first because I loved how it came out!

Enjoy your day!

GDP172 - Valentine's Kangaroo

Hello! I'm going to have a quick post today but I wanted to share the card I made for this week's Global Design Project challenge. (My other valentine's decor project will be posted in a couple of days.....just need to edit photos). This week's challenge can be found HERE. It's a Case the Designer Challenge. I like these challenges to help get the creative juices flowing.

Here is the card to CASE.

I decided to make a valentin'es card with this challenge. Now I just need to hide the card so my hubby doesn't see it. I'm on top of my game by having a card ready for him already, haha!!

I used the Animal Outing bundle for this card. At first I wanted to use it so I could use the Wild About You sentiment but then I realized that I used that sentiment on the anniversary card I gave him back in October so I wanted to use a different saying. I still decided to go with the animals from the set though. Instead of stamping and coloring them, I went the quick route and die cut the kangaroo and leaves from the Animal Expedition DSP. I don't usually do that but it's fun to change it up once in a while and it's so easy. Definitely helps the card making process.

I also used the new Be Mine Stitched Framelits. I really got these dies for that open heart border die. It's soooo cute! I decided to keep some of the hearts stuck in the die because it looked cool. The larger heart die with the "love you" staying is also from the framelits.

After I layered everything on the All My Love DSP, I added some of the Heart Epoxy Droplets to the card. They give it a fun little touch!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful Thursday!

January Swap - Valentine's Day

Hello! It's almost Friday! Woo hoo! I am ready for the weekend, even though we don't have anything really planned this weekend. I'm hoping to get some crafty time in. Last weekend was a little busy so I'm looking forward to a break this weekend. But last weekend I held my first kids card class so that was fun! I had 15 kids!! Which was a tad more than I was expecting for my first time but it was good. Some of the parents helped their children which also helped me as well.

Here is a picture of the setup at the cute little shop in a nearby town and the projects the kids the made.

This is the creative changes the kids made to their cards. They did a great job! I can't wait to plan my next class!

While on the valentine's theme, I'm going to share my swaps that I created for my monthly swap group. As you can guess our theme was Valentine's day. I wanted to show that you don't necessarily need a Valentine's stamp set for a Valentine's card. I wanted to search through sets I already had to create something and the Ribbon of Courage set worked perfectly!

What a bright and fun set of cards! The Painted Love DSP from the Occasions catalog is awesome! I think I may have mentioned that in earlier posts but I just love this stuff!

I stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo ink onto Powder Pink cardstock. Then I stamped the heart image in Calypso Coral on Calypso Coral cardstock. This was all layered on Rich Razzleberry card stock along with the Painted Love DSP. I would have never thought to put these colors together but they work great. I die cut 2 hearts with the coordinating framelits from the DSP. Then I finished off the card with half a doily, a strip of gold foil paper and some sequins. Love me some sequins! :)

I hope you enjoyed these fun swaps!

Lift Me Up Valentine's Card

Happy Tuesday! Looks like it might be a snowy Tuesday here in NJ. But I have a fun card to brighten your day.

I knew that I wanted to use the Lift Me Up stamp set with the new Painted Love DSP. I had some ideas in my head but this wasn't what I was thinking at all, haha! But I love how it came out. This paper is so nice and thick. I want to use all of the sheets in the pack!

I stamped the balloons on Pool Party and Bermuda Bay card stock. The heart is stamped on Powder Pink card stock and the clouds are die cut with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. I embossed the sentiment  with white powder on black card stock. I finished off the card with the Pool Party shimmer ribbon and some metallic enamel shapes.

Aren't these colors so great together? And the glimmer clouds really make this card super special.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay warm!

Message in a Bottle - Valentine's Day

Happy Monday!! It's another cold snowy day here. It's only January and I've already had enough of this weather. I cannot wait until the day where I can bring out the flip flops!! But since that is a ways away, lets look at some pretty cards.

I just received the new Painted with Love DSP from the Occasions catalog and I LOVE it! The paper is just so pretty, I had to make 2 cards with it. I can't wait to use it some more. I wanted to make some Valentine's cards and decided to use the Message in a Bottle stamp set. I just recently got this set and haven't used it yet. The images in this set are so fun.

I love the octopus and the coordinating sentiment for him. Hahaha! I stamped him on some Powder Pink card stock which was die cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits. Behind the circle is more DSP punched with the Everyday Label Punch and a strip of mini gold sequins and a Bermuda Bay ribbon.

I stamped the sentiment on Bermuda Bay card stock and cut out each of the words and glued them to the front. The final touch was a Gold metallic enamel heart and some sequins.

For the next card, I used the bottle which I stamped on Berry Burst card stock and embossed with gold embossing powder. The inside of the bottle was stamped on Powder pink card stock and embossed.

The gold embossing makes it look so pretty!

Here is the inside of the card.

Have you used this new DSP yet? What are you thoughts on it?

Thanks for stopping by! Stay warm!!

Party Pandas Meet Tutti Frutti

Happy 2018!! It's the start of a new year and that also means the start of the Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs!! Yay!!

As my time with the Artisan team has ended, I hope to still continue to blog as much as I did last year and to try to get some more classes on the calendar this year. 2017 was an interesting year for me. I had the great honor to be picked for the Artisan Design team. So while that was super exciting, I was also going through some rough patches in my full time job. I was laid off twice from the same company. Laid off in February and was given 12 weeks to find a new job - internal or external. I accepted an internal position in June only to be laid off again in October. What rotten luck, haha!!!  Luckily I was given another 12 weeks to find something and I am happy to say that I have found a new position that I am excited about. So while there was a lot of uncertainty last year, it did give me some of the extra time I needed to commit fully to the Artisan adventure. I guess in some ways everything worked out good.

So with that little recap on me, I have some super cute cards to show you. I am kicking off 2018 with the adorable Party Pandas from the Sale-a-bration catalog. Pandas are my favorite animal so this set was a must have! I decided to pair them with the Tutti Frutti cards and envelopes also from the SAB catalog. I punched 4 starburst circles in Gold glimmer paper and added them to each card. I kept the cards/layouts fairly simple. The complicated part was cutting those pandas but since I like cutting it wasn't too bad.

I thought this little guy would be a cute Valentine's card. A fun thing to note is the heart framelit from Up and Away fits the "Love You" sentiment perfectly. I finished off the card with some Subtle enamel shapes. I used the subtle shapes on all the cards. You could use the Tutti Frutti sequins from the Occasions catalog if you don't have the enamel shapes.

The next guy is ready for a birthday party! The sentiment fits perfectly in the Classic Label punch. (Another must have punch). All of the pandas have a little shading on them, done with the Light Smoky Slate blend marker. I also colored the party balloon with the markers too.

The birthday panda is back again but this time he just wants to say Hi. :) And if you notice I didn't use the matching envelopes with the cards. I thought it looked super fun to match up them with one of the other envelopes from the stack. And how cute are in the insides of these envelopes!

Last up is another guy who's ready to party!! So what do you think of the new SAB goodies and Occasions catalog. What are your favorites??

Want to earn this set for FREE?? Just place a $50 order and these guys can be all yours! If you place a $100 order you can get the pandas and Tutti Frutti cards for FREE. Contact me to place your order for these products and I will throw in the Subtle enamel shapes as a gift from me! (Place your order through me or by selecting me as your Demonstrator).

Happy New Year!!

Merry Cafe Love Card: Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to the Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog hop. There are 20 of us from around the world so be sure to follow along to see everyone's projects. You should have just come from Holly's blog.

Well this is my last blog post as a member of the 2017 Artisan Design Team. I cannot believe how fast this year has gone and how fast my time on the team has been. It's been a great experience being a part of the team. I've met some great new people that hopefully I can meet in person one day! I loved being able to chat with these gals from all over the world. And I feel like I have grown as a stamper. This experience has made me use some products I normally wouldn't use and has gotten me to stretch my creative brain. :) Plus I also loved the freebies we got as well!!!

But let's move on to the project for this month. The team focused on the Merry Cafe set. I think this set is just so fun!! I love how you can use it for several different occasions. I decided to make a valentine's card with it. But with a few color changes you can make this same card as a Christmas card in case you are still making your cards. :)

I used some of the Coffee Break DSP and I made my own patterned paper by embossing the diagonal stripe stamp on Smokey Slate card stock. The coffee cup was cut with Night of Navy card stock. For the holder, I used the corrugated die cut and Crumb Cake cardstock. Then I stamped the heart sentiment, some leaves and cut them out.

For an extra fun touch I decorated the inside of the card as well.

I needed to use that mini coffee cup die somewhere because it is so adorable!! I stamped the "perk up" stamp in Smoky Slate and die cut it. Since I didn't want to use that sentiment, I stamped "Love is Brewing" on Pink Pirouette card stock and cut it so that it covered the middle of the coffee cup. I added a strip of Coffee Break DSP and some of the cute enamel shapes to coordinate with the front of the card. How fun right!!

I think this would be such a cute card for a guy or change up the colors a bit and have these ready for any guy to give to his gal!
