And for some eye candy. I whipped up these Thank you cards yesterday. The Painted Petals set makes such pretty cards. I am hoping to get a class together soon to make more cards using this set. Hopefully this weekend, I can get the details worked out for a class in May. But back to the card. I used the Painted Blooms DSP on Soft Sky cardstock. The flowers were stamped in Blackberry Bliss (LOVE!) and Wild Wasabi. I added some Sahara Sand lace trim to the edge of the white cardstock. I stamped the Thank You on Vellum cardstock and cut it out with one of the dies from the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. Then I added a gold button to cover up the adhesive for the vellum. These came together fairly quickly.

Mini Treat Bag Easter cards

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. We went to see the Easter bunny yesterday and it was not quite so successful. I did get a picture with both kids and the easter bunny but they were not too happy about it, haha! My son was excited to see the easter bunny until it was time to take the picture. Then he got scared and didn't want to go up there. I was able to get him to sit there. And since I was so focused on getting him to stay in the picture I wasn't able to make faces at my daughter to make her laugh. Even though the picture was less than successful, I still bought it anyway, haha! It was their first holiday picture together (their Santa picture was not great either) so I wanted to have a memory of it. Hopefully next year will be a little better. It was funny, as soon as the picture was done my son went running to my husband and with a smile on his face said "I saw the easter bunny". At least he didn't seem traumatized from it!

Now on to today's crafty goodies. These are the Easter cards I was talking about in my post last week. I'm excited with how they came out. There are a couple of things that I could tweak and fix but since these are for my son and my 7 month old niece, I'm not fixing it - they won't notice! My idea was that I wanted to make cute little bunnies and then pull them out from the mini treat bags. And it worked. The tutorial for the bunny I found on pinterest. (You can follow me on Pinterest - I pin LOTS of things)! The bunny was made with the oval framelits, small oval punch and the owl punch (for the eyes and nose). I used the Birthday Bash dsp for the little egg and the Painted Blooms dsp for the bunny ears. I glued all of the pieces of the bunny to the decorative dots embossed cardstock. (I used dimensionals on parts of the bunny). Then I made the mini treat bags. These are so so cute! I love them. Pick up the mini treat framelit die now with 1 or 2 other items while SAB is still going on so you can get a free item!! I loved this when it first came out but wasn't sure how much use I would get out of it. Now that I have it I want to make so many more! I used this the other week for part of my hostess gift for a workshop and filled it with various trims, adorable! I will share those projects this week. Back to the easter cards. After I cut out the treat bags, I stamped them with the circle image from Hello Darling. I thought it added a cute little touch to the bags. For the Pistachio pudding bag, I added some Sahara Sand lace trim (this one will be going to my niece). For both bags, I used one of the dies from the From the Garden bundle and stamped it with "Hippity-Hpppity" from the And Many More set. And then I wrapped twine around the bags. For the bunny cards, I added chevron ribbon so you can pull out the cards from the bags with the ribbon. I may go back and add Happy Easter to the bunny somewhere but I'm not sure yet. Either way, I wanted to share these with you before Easter so you can make your own cute bunny cards!

Indescribable Flowers - Wedding Card

Happy Monday! Today I have a card to share with you that I made for a wedding we went to over the weekend. It was nice to get out for the evening without the kids and have a delicious meal. However, I was so tired on Sunday. Staying out late with young ones just does not work anymore! And I was even tired before the wedding considering that the kids were up at 4:30 am on Saturday morning!!!!!! I was able to get a nap in before the wedding but still, I needed way more sleep. I do not understand why my kids do not realize that Mommy LOVES her sleep and needs it to function. But that is a whole other topic that I could complain about all day long, haha! You came here for pretty cards so let's talk about pretty cards instead. I used the invitation as inspiration for my card. I always like to try to match the card to the invitation or theme (if there is one). My first thought when I saw those flowers on the invitation is that I wanted to use the Indescribable Gift set with the Blendabilities. (Note: Blendabilities are currently unavailable at this time due to a manufacturer quality issue). I used the Rich Razzleberry blendies for these flowers but you could easily use the Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Up markers too. I also embossed the flower image with gold ink and clear embossing powder. Everything embossed looks so much nicer, plus it helps with the coloring so your ink doesn't bleed. The sentiment is also embossed. I added 2 pearls, colored with the blendies, to the Label Framelit. I added some Champagne glimmer punched banners for a little extra sparkle. And of course I had to add some gold sequins in there. I can't do a card now without sequins! I need to make a card for a baby shower this weekend and I'm already thinking about how I can add sequins to it, haha!! It's like an addiction at this point! Well stop back later on this week for more inspiration. I have a card that I haven't posted yet and I will have a baby shower card to share at some point in the next week.

Hey Valentine treats

Hello! I am glad that I am able to share with you my son's valentine's day treats for his class. Please excuse the less than stellar photos. My photo taking time is limited to morning or night and neither of those are good options since there is no daylight. I need to get my photo tent sent up in the craft room but that has been low on the list of things to do around the house. I think I need to bump it up since these pictures are not that great. But you still get to see the project. I fell in love with the fish from this set and knew that I wanted to use it for valentine's treats. Instead the treat bags are packages of gold fish. Obviously I was way more excited about doing these than my son was but I figured it's the first time he gets to do valentine's in school so I wanted to do something cute while his class was still small and he didn't have much say, haha!! I did want him to participate a little bit so I had him color the Lost Lagoon pieces with some crayons. Those pieces have his name on it. So you lift up the white circle to see who it's from. I used the same colors for the fish that I did in my last post. I didn't put too much effort into coloring them since I know the kids won't care too much. The coloring was more fun for me! Once I had everything colored and cut out I just stapled everything to the bags and that was it! I just wanted to keep things fairly simple since the kids are just going to tear into the bags for the goldfish anyway. But I still had fun putting these together and I think my son enjoyed some coloring too!

Hey Valentine

Happy Tuesday! I wanted to get this card posted before Valentine's day. Even though you can definitely use this stamp set for birthdays and other cards, just don't stamp the sentiment. As soon as I saw this set in the catalog, I had to have it, I thought it was so cute!! I think the fish are my favorite from the set. I am also using these fish for my son's valentine's for his class. I hope I can get them posted before Valentine's day.
On to the card. For the background, I stamped the handcarved stamp on watercolor paper and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then used my aqua painter and several blue colors to get the ombre look. It was a fun technique to do. I then stamped the fish and colored them in with the Blendabilities. LOVE these markers! They make coloring so much more fun! I used the starburst framelit to cut out the fish and I left off the sentiment because I wanted to have it pop on colored cardstock. The yellow behind the fish are 2 Daffodil Delight Deco label framelits. I just adhered everything together with the cool little stapler from the Occasions catalog. I then stamped the Hey Valentine sentiment on Calypso Coral cardstock and used the banner punch for the ends. The finishing touch was Bermuda Bay sequins. I think every card needs sequins!! :)

Starburst Thank You

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I was fairly productive craft-wise, not so much in the cleaning department, haha! I was able to work on some cards for my upcoming card class. Stay tuned for information on this class. But on to today's card. I saw this layout on a card from Pinterest. I used the super cute Retro Fresh DSP. I am in love with this paper. I think I really like the fun springy colors in it. I stamped the sentiment from Starburst Sayins in Coastal Cabana and cut it out with the Starburst Framelits. The flower behind the starburst is from the Floral Framelits dies. I think this is the first time I actually used these dies. I have no idea what took me so long to use them. I then added some gold sequin trim and Crushed Curry ribbon. I finished it off with a very vintage designer button. This was a pretty quick card to put together. I think it would be cute to try this out with other DSPs.

Retro Banners

Hello! More new goodies to share today. I had a little extra time this morning before an appointment (with no baby around) so I took advantage to make a quick card. Even though I probably should have been cleaning or something. Oh well! I used the new Retro Fresh DSP from the Occasions catalog. The colors in this paper are so bright and fun. I think this paper "may" be my favorite from the catalog. Well at least for now it is. I cut out several banners with the Hearts a Flutter framelits and the Banner punch from the SAB catalog. I also die cut 2 starburts from the Starburst Framelits. The Coastal Cabana one is also embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder from SAB. The sentiment is stamped in Tangerine Tango from the Starburst Sayings set. For the finishing touch I added the gold sequin trim and a few random gold sequins. Love those too! I am just really in love with the Occassions mini this year. This card would look really cute using a variety of DSPs. It's a great way to use up all those scraps you have lying around. Happy Snow Day! To those of you on the east coast. We got a decent amount of about 12 inches or so. I think I have had my share of snow for this winter. I am definitely ready for spring/summer to get here. In the meantime, I'll just make some bright colored cards. Today's card is a Valentine's card using more new items from the Occasions mini and Sale-a-bration catalog. I used the Starburst Framelit dies to cut out a piece of the Fresh Prints DSP. The red stripe DSP is also from the paper stack. I used the Banner Blast stamp set and punch from the Sale-a-bration catalog. This little set is so cute! The hearts are stamped and cut with the Hearts a Flutter set and dies. I also used the Coastal Cabana twine from the sale-a-bration catalog. Love this stuff! The sentiment is from Petite Pairs. Simple Stems

Happy New Year!! It's been quite a while. I had meant to post a couple of Christmas ideas but time just got away from me. And who wants to see Christmas stuff now, I am so ready to move on to spring!! So speaking of spring, I have some cards this week using new stuff from the Occasions mini and SAB catalog (which is available at the end of January). For today's card I used the new stamp set Simple Stems. You can never have enough flower stamps. :) I stamped the different flowers in Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Calypso Coral. The stems are stamped in Gumball Green. The background polka dot paper is the Fresh Prints DSP paper stack. All of the prints in this stack are so cute! If you notice there are some gold sequins on the card as well. They are also from the Occassions catalog. Love them! I stamped the sentimet from Petite Pairs and then die cut it with one of the dies from the On Film framelits collection. The white frame around the flowers is also from that collection. And the finishing touch is Summer Starfruit twine from the SAB catalog. This twine is lovely too. You'll see this on another card this week! Banner Birthday!

I am back with another post for you today. I like that I have a little time to get back into making some cards. I did another challenge on splitcoast today which was to focus on the use of banners on your card. I had seen this sketch somewhere with the banners like this so I thought it was perfect for today's card. This card was pretty quick to make and is a great way to use up some DSP scraps. This would look cute with any of the fabulous DSPs we have. Today I choose to use the Sweet Shop DSP. Unfortunately this isn't available anymore but there are definitely some great papers in the new catalog to chose from. I just cut 3 strips in various lengths and used the square punch to make the banner on the bottom. I stamped the popsicle from Mouthwatering in Calypso Coral and added some Dazzling Diamonds. I used a scrap piece of white for the sentiment and also used the square punch on the ends. And that's it, a quick and simple card! Tomorrow my new stuff comes so hopefully it comes early enough that I have time to play and get a card posted!

Mouthwatering Swap

Hi! Today's card is one that I did a while ago for a swap but I don't think I ever shared it on here. I just love the ice cream come from the Mouthwatering set. Even more so now since ice cream has been my big weakness lately. :) Anyway, this set is from the Occasions mini however, it may still live on in the new catalog (wink, wink)! I really think this is a fun and different set to use for birthdays. Or really whatever occasion you would like. I actually stamped the ice cream cone 4 different times in Chocolate Chip, Lucky Limeade, Tempting Turquoise and Real Red and then cut out the different parts and layered them. It was a little time consuming to cut them but the end result is worth it. I then layered the ice cream on one of the Labels Collections Framelits die and added some rhinestones. I used a piece of DSP from the Summer Smooches collection. LOVE this DSP also!!! The colors are so bright and fun! Then I added a strip of Daffodil Delight and stamped the sentiment from Friendly Phrases. Thanks for looking!! Have a great afternoon!

Sweet Popsicles and the Retired Stamp List!

Happy Wednesday! Today's card is another card using the Mouthwatering set from the Occasions Mini. It's the same layout as this card. The background paper is from the Sweet Shop DSP. The paper from this pack is so much fun. There isn't too much to explain on this card, so this will be a short post.

Mouthwatering Cherries

Hello! I have a quick post for you today. Today's card uses the Mouthwatering set and the Sweet Shop DSP. I used the cute cherry dsp as the background. The cherries are stamped in Calypso Coral and then cut out. For the sentiment I used the Labels Collections Framelits die to make the label. I cut out one of the labels and then I ran it through the Big Shot again postitioning the die so it basically cut the label in half. This works well for some of the bigger/longer sentiments. Glittery Birthday

Hello!! This week I have a couple of fun cards using the Mouthwatering set from the Occasions Mini. This is a great set for summer birthday cards or even year round birthday cards. Who wouldn't love an ice cream cone birthday card! I used the Sweet Shop DSP from the Occasions mini for the background. I stamped the ice cream cone 3 times and cut out each section and layered them with dimensionals. I then layered this onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that was embossed with the Designer Frames embossing folder. I stamped the sentiment from Party This Way in Lucky Limeade. I also used a strip of the silver glimmer paper (LOVE this stuff!). And the final touch was a Melon Mambo bow. I really like all of these bright colors together. I am so ready for spring/summer to get here soon! I will be back in a day or 2 with another Mouthwatering/Sweet Shop birthday card.

Mouthwatering Goodness!

Hello there! Today's card uses lots of new items (and new to me items) from the Occasions Mini and Sale-a-bration catalog. I had seen this layout on Maile Belle's blog and I really liked how she used the a die for the cut out portion. This card actually ended up coming out how I envisioned it. I love what that happens! The paper and stamp set are new from the Occasions mini. They are part of the Sweet Shop product suite. I went back and forth on this stamp set and paper. I really liked it as soon as I saw it but I just wasn't sure I would get enough use out of it. After thinking about it and then seeing some cards done with it, I decided to get it. I'm so glad I did. I'm really liking it. The paper is really fun and I love the colors. And I like that the stamp set is something different than the normal flowers or nature type sets I get. I like to venture out and get some different stamps to build my collection. Now on to the card. The Wisteria Wonder piece was embossed with the Stripes Textured embossing folder, which you can get for FREE from the Sale-a-bration catalog. I then die cut that piece with the Labels Collection framelits die. Behind the opening, I added a piece of the Sweet Shop DSP. (Love those little hearts). Then I used the Mouthwatering set to stamp the ice cream cones. I actually stamped the ice cream cone 3 times. The cone in Crumb Cake, the ice cream in Pool Party and Lucky Limeade and the cherry in Real Red. I cut out each of these pieces and then layered them with dimensionals. Then I wrapped some Pool Party bakers twine around the Wisteria Wonder piece, made a bow and then added the sentiment from Party This Way. New Goodies!

Hello! It feels good to be back into the swing of things a little more. My energy has picked up a bit along with some creative juices. I hope I can keep this going for a little bit. New stuff always helps to get the mojo back. :) Today I'm showing some new things from the Occasions mini and from the upcoming Sale-a-Bration. I LOVE this new paper from Sale-a-Bration! I think I like all of the fun bright colors that it uses. It kind of helps to get out of this winter funk. The set I used is called Tea Shoppe from the Occasions mini. I really liked this set when I first saw it in the catalog but I wasn't sure how much use I would get out of it. Now after playing around with it a bit, I'm really liking it more and more. The little tea cups are just so cute. So this group of cards is for my next class in February. In the class we will also be making a cute tea bag holder (not shown).

Nature Walk Easter

Hi! I'm back with another Nature Walk card. I think I'm finally starting to get into this set. I wanted to do an easter card with the eggs from the set. I think it came out pretty cute. Of course its another vintage card. I feel like I can only do vintage and distressed with this set. Maybe i'll make that a challenge to NOT do any of that on the next card I do with this set. We'll see :) I started off with an Early Espresso based that I stamped with the music notes wheel (it's a little hard to see it in the photo). I then sprayed some Log Cabin smooch spritz on top of it. I think I went a little too heavy with it because it covered up a lot of the music notes. But it does have a pretty cool shimmer to it. Then while my music notes wheel was still a little dirty I ran it over the watercolor piece to give it a little something extra. Oh and the edges of all the pieces are sponged with Early Espresso. I then stamped the eggs 2 times on the watercolor paper in Early Espresso. I colored in the eggs with various inks and a blender pen. I like that the early espresso ink blended a little bit as I was coloring in the eggs. I then added some lace and tafetta ribbon. I saw this online and thought it was really cool to layer both of these ribbons. I used a large brown button I had and then added 2 little tags that say Happy Easter. I think I should have stamped them a little further down on the tag since part of the words are covered a bit by the button. But you get the idea. Or maybe next time I would add the sentiment under the eggs. Hmm I don't know which I would like better?? Well that's it for me today. I hope to work on some more cards tonight but I don't know. I'm trying to get back into some sort of working out and they offer classes at work. So I'm hoping to have the energy to go after work. And then I will probably be wiped out after that to do anything else for the evening, lol! Or maybe I will get my second wind! Have a nice day!

Nature Walk

Happy Snowy Wednesday! I can't believe I woke up to snow this morning. It wasn't a lot just enough to be annoying. I was so ready for the warm weather after we had a couple of nice days last week. I guess that was just a tease. Today's card uses the Nature Walk set. I bought this set thinking I would use it a lot and I think this is maybe the 2nd time I did. I really like the set but I was just having a hard time coming up with something I liked using it, so I just never did. But this weekend, I really wanted to put this set to use. I'm pretty happy with how the card came out so maybe it will get me to use the set more. Don't mind my tilted picture. :) I didn't realize the picture was so tilted until after I downloaded it. For the details, the layout is one that I just used the other day on the Sew Suite card, I just changed a couple of things. I used the Botanical Gazette DSP and Pear Pizazz cardstock along with Vanilla and Early Espresso cardstock (scallop strip). I stamped the leaves in Pear Pizazz and sponged the vanilla piece with Crumb Cake. I stamped the bird in Early Espresso, then I used sponge daubers to color him in. First I sponged him in Crumb Cake, then I added a little bit of Marina Mist to his belly and then added Early Espresso. And the finishing touch was Marina Mist ribbon. Enjoy!

Sew Suite Thanks

Hi! Today's card is a case of Sherri Barron's card here. I just changed the colors to Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizazz and Peach Parfait. The paper is from the In Color pack (hostess). The sentiment is from Thank You Kindly. I stamped the spools 2 times. Once on the colored paper and then then once on Crumb Cake. I only cut out the middle section of the colored pieces. I also stamped the ruler image above the ribbon. The ribbon is not SU, it was the closest yellow I had to Daffodil Delight. I just have a short post for you today. Have a nice afternoon!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. Luckily I was able to do some cards on Saturday plus make a yummy dinner. Then Sunday was filled with cleaning and organzing....yuck! At least we had another good dinner to end the weekend. I was working on organzing my craft room...what an undertaking that is. As if I didn't already know, but this was just proof that I have WAY too many stamps, papers, accessories! I need to condense. Well actually it's more like I need to make room because the new mini comes out soon and then the new catalog in July so I am definitely going to need space for all the new things I will want. I saw something similar to the layout for today's card online, so I had this idea in my head and I wanted to try it out. I think it came out cute. But maybe that's because I'm partial to that little dress form. So adorable! I just wrapped some Pretty in Pink tafetta ribbon around the form and added an Old Olive button. The ribbon is Certainly Celery satin and the DSP is Concord Crush from the In Color paper pack (hostess gift). This was a pretty quick card to make. I hope you like it!
