Witches Brew

Happy Wednesday!! I have a cute Halloween card to share today. I figure I better get it posted before Halloween comes and goes! This was the swap card I made for the monthly swap group I'm in. Our theme for September was Halloween/Fall. (Side note: I still have swaps from other months that I haven't shared here yet, so I'll work on that for the next couple of weeks).

Anyway, I decided to use the Merry Cafe stamp set. I thought this set was so cute in the catalog. And would you believe this is the first time using the Coffee Cups Framelits. I got them in my first order way back in June and I have yet to use them until now. I can't wait to use this set again for more fun cards!

I first stamped the Burlap stamp onto Elegant Eggplant card stock. I realized that I didn't not have Elegant Eggplant ink so I used Fresh Fig ink and it worked just fine. I cut a piece of the cute plaid DSP from Merry Little Christmas and layered it on top of Elegant Eggplant. The coffee cup was cut out of Lemon Lime Twist card stock. I stamped the sentiment onto Crumb Cake and cut it out.

I finished off the coffee cup with some Black lace trim under the lid along with a Crushed Curry bow. And then some black rhinestones. Cute right!

These were quick to make but are so cute. These would look great in other colors and other DSP. Give it a try. I'd like to see what you can come up with!

Thanks for stopping by!

Regal Blessings Card set: Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to the Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog hop. There are 20 of us from around the world so be sure to follow along to see everyone's projects. You should have just come from Holly's blog. I loved her projects.

The team is back this month focusing on Gourd Greetings or Count My Blessings. I decided to go with Count My Blessings. It's probably a set I wouldn't normally pick but I was in love with the fonts in this set so I wanted that to be the focus of my cards. I decided to make a card set featuring the 2 sentiments.

Each of the cards uses the same layout just with different colors. I used a fall color palette for the card bases and flowers, leaves and acorns. This would make a great thank you gift for someone!

Here is a look at each of the cards.

To start, I stamped the flower and acorn images on Shimmery white cardstock and colored with the watercolor pencils and blender pens. I cut each of the images out. The base layer was stamped with another of the images from the set in the same color as the card stock. I distressed the edges and ran them through the coordinating ink to give it some texture. The sentiments were stamped on a Stitched shape. I then glued some lace trim to the back of the shape. The top corner of each card has 2 strips of Wood Textures DSP punched with the Banner Triple punch. A pretty Crushed Curry bow and some Gold mini sequin trim finish off the card.

Now after you make these pretty cards, you need to package them up nicely. I used one of the acetate card boxes from the Holiday catalog to hold the 4 cards and envelopes. I wrapped some lace trim around the box and added a Crushed Curry bow and gold sequin trim just like on the cards. Simple but so pretty.

It's time to get out your watercolor pencils and get coloring. This set is perfect for coloring!

My cards today focus on the Christmas Around the World DSP. There are lots of fun papers in package but I chose to work with the plaid ones.

I just love the reindeer from the Merry Patterns stamp set so I used him on both cards today. On the first card I stamped and cut him out. Then I cut out one of the wreaths from the DSP and put it around his neck. Cute right!

I used embossing paste on the background and sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds to make it super sparkly. Then a doily, a red stitched shape circle and silver sequins finished off the card.

My next card uses the red plaid DSP. On top of the DSP I added the gold polka dots from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate. The reindeer was stamped in Versamark and then I embossed him with Gold embossing powder. I finished off the card with some gold thread and the leaf vine. I'm not really sure what you call it but I think it's super cute. This is actually one of the framelits from the Little Love Framelits.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I hope you are taking advantage of the great DSP sale going on now too. Buy 3, get 1 FREE!!
