Fall Birthday Card

Happy Monday! I'm back again with another card I made using Brushos and the Colorful Seasons stamp set. The weather is taking a turn towards fall and it was a little chilly yesterday and today. So I figure now is the time to make all the fall cards I can. My mom's birthday was on Saturday (along with my nephew's first birthday) so I made this fall card for her.

I had fun making the leaves on a previous fall card, so I wanted to do it again. This time I paired it with the Share What you Love DSP. I haven't used this as much and I forgot how great the designs are in this package. After that I layered a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock that was embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing folder. I love this embossing folder!!

The sentiment is from Stitched All Around. I stamped it on a piece of the Woodgrain DSP, which was die with the Stitched Labels Framelits. A fun technique that  I don't do as often is stamping on DSP.  I like how this came out with the white wash wood DSP. It was light enough for my sentiment but still have enough texture so that it wasn't too stark.

The finishing touches to this card was Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle ribbon, Tranquil Tide Velvet Ribbon and Gold Faceted Gems. Since I was hand delivering this card, I figured I could go crazy on the gold gems. They are turning into a new favorite too!!

Happy Fall!! Have a great day!

Stitched All Around - Watercolor card

Hello! It's another gloomy rainy day here in the east coast. Enough with the rain already!! While I wait for the sun to shine, I'll share a fun and bright card I made. I actually made the watercolor background a couple of weeks ago but I never had the time to finish it. So these pretty colors have been staring at me waiting to be put together on a card!

To start, I wet my Shimmer white paper and added Gorgeous Grape, Grapefruit Grove and Lovely Lipstick ink and blended until I got a background I liked. Then I added some drops of those same colors and heat dried with my embossing gun. I layered this onto Petal Pink cardstock (also a new favorite color!). I stamped the sentiment twice on Petal Pink cardstock. I cut it out with a stitched shape circle and then I just cut out the word "darling" to make it pop.

The final touches on this card were Gorgeous Grape and Polka Dot tulle ribbon, Flirty Flamingo bakers twine (which I just realized is retired) and Glitter Enamel dots. I am loving these colors together! Gorgeous Grape is my new favorite color from the catalog. I've been waiting for a purple like this forever!

I hope this brightened up your day! Thanks for stopping by!

Colorful Seasons Fall Card

Happy Monday!! It's been cool and dreary here the past few days so it put me in the mood to make a fall card. I am still not ready to let summer and my flip flops go just yet but I'm ok with starting on some fall cards. I'm back after a short hiatus of being on vacation at the beach at the end of August and getting started with school for the kids last week.

I paired the Give Thanks sentiment from Labels to Love with the leaves from Colorful Seasons. To make the multi-colored leaves, I used my aqua painter and Brusho. I used shimmery white card stock that I saturated with my aqua painter. Then I sprinkled the brusho on top. I barely blended everything in as I wanted a look that had lots of reds, yellows and oranges in it. It's been a while since I've used Brusho but it was perfect to make these leaves. They are so realistic looking.

After my leaves dried, I die cut them with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I also cut additional leaves from Soft Suede with one of the other dies from the set. The sentiment was stamped with Soft Suede on Crushed Curry cardstock. This was layered onto Fresh Fig cardstock and Soft Sea Foam cardstock. I also added a vellum and burlap ribbon layer. I had lots of layers on this card!!! But I love it! The DSP I used on this card is from the Holiday Catalog. It's the Festive Farmhouse DSP. I love using the Holiday DSP for other uses than it was intended. That's the great thing about Stampin' Up! DSP, there are other images in the package that can be used for other occasions!

The finishing touch on this card was Gold Faceted Gems and gold sequins. You know I love adding some sequins! I hope you enjoyed today's card. I'll be back in a day or 2 with another fun card I made over the weekend.

Stay dry!!
