Purple Poppies!

Hello! It's another Painted Poppy day! While I had this set on my desk, I've whipped up a bunch of cards, so I hope your ready to see a few more with this set. It's hard not to make a bunch of cards with this set and this pretty paper. I think this paper is one of my favorites from the Peaceful Poppies DSP. The colors are so bright and vibrant so I decided to pair it with a lighter Purple Posy poppy. Doesn't that color look so great with the DSP?

For the center of the flower, I colored it with wink of stella for extra shimmer. The leaves were cut out with Granny Apple Green and Mossy Meadow card stock.

I also used a strip of DSP from the Golden Honey Specialty DSP from Sale-a-bration and a strip of Gold Glimmer paper for some extra sparkle!

For the sentiment I used the Well Said stamp set. Since there was some yellow in the DSP, I decided to stamp the sentiment on Pineapple Punch card stock. I love the extra "punch" it adds. :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day

Purple Magnolia Thank You Card

Happy Friday!! I have a super pretty and springy card to start off the holiday week. This is another sneak peek of a fabulous stamp set in the new catalog. One of my favorites already!

For this card, I stamped the magnolia image in Versamark and embossed with white powder on Shimmery card stock. I then used my aqua painter to color it in. The colors I used are: Purple Posy, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Soft Sea Foam and Granny Apple Green. These purples work fabulous together!!

On the Gray Granite card stock,  I stamped the image multiple times to make my own DSP of sorts. I stamped the image in Gray Granite ink which was stamped off once on scrap paper so it wasn't too harsh.

Some of the embellishments are also from the new catalog. That is new lace trim and the ribbon behind the Thanks is also new. AND one other new item are those fantastic Stitched Nested Labels dies where I stamped "thanks" on. These are going to be another item you will probably see me use a lot too!! :)

This was just a quick post for you. Enjoy your weekend!

Magnolia Mother's Day

Hello!! Happy May!! It's the middle of May already and the new Stampin' Up! catalog will be live in just a few short weeks. While I should be playing with some of my favorites that are retiring, I just had to use the new Magnolia dies to make these little 3-d frames for Mother's Day. Mikaela from The Crafty Oink Pen had made these super cute frames on her blog a few weeks ago. I just loved them and wanted to try to make them too. She was nice enough to share the instructions to make the frames so I got right to work making my own. They were so easy to make!

After I made the frames, I knew I wanted to add magnolias to the middle. For the Navy frame, I just added one large magnolia in the middle. After I made the flower, I stamped the image from the Good Morning Magnolia set on to Granny Apple Green card stock and then cut it out with the coordinating dies. Since I only needed the leaves, I just cut those apart and added them to the back of the magnolia. I also added some cute cork embellishments that will be in the new catalog. Aren't they adorable?!?

The Crumb Cake frame is similar to the navy except that I added a smaller magnolia (and I didn't use the cork embellishments). For both frames I cut out "friend" from the Well Written framelits. Then I stamped one of the sentiments from the Well Said set on to Purple Posy card stock and cut out the words. One thing to note, Purple Posy may now be my new favorite color!! :) It's one of the new In Colors in the 2019 - 2020 catalog. It's a nice light purple that I think will go well with so many things!! I love it!

The center of these flowers use the Gold Faceted Gems. Also, the Pool Party card stock was embossed with the Tin Tile embossing folder. (Can you see how lovely that purple is?)

The center of this flower also uses a new item from the upcoming catalog. They are called Perennial Essence Floral Centers. They are fun fuzzy centers that are perfect for flowers!

Just one more look at the frame. How cute are these going to be on your wall!

I love how these came out. I may have to make one for myself to hang on my wall. Who wouldn't love looking at these magnolias!

Thanks for stopping by!

Home Sampler Frame

Hello! Happy Friday!! I have another super fun craft fair item to share with you today. I love how this came out! And I have a ton of pictures for you as well!

I've seen these Home samplers and I've wanted to make my own for a while. I bought this frame at Michaels and at first I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. Even the woman ringing me up at Michaels asked what do you do with this?? Because it's a wood frame with 1 piece of glass so actually I'm not really sure what the purpose is but I thought it would work great for my Home sign.

I cut out letters using the Wood textures DSP. I glued the DSP onto a piece of cardboard that was die cut as well to make the letters thicker. Then I added dimensionals and hot glued them onto the glass.
I also cut out letters to glue to the back of the glass so you didn't see the dimensionals and glue on the other side.

Then I got to work on all of the inserts that I was going to do in place of the letter O.

As you can see in the picture above, I hot glued a magnet to the glass and added magnets to each oval. So that makes it easy peasy to change them out for each holiday/occasion.

I did 10 holidays/occasions total. I thought about doing a different one for each month but I figured you could keep some of them up for longer than 1 month so 10 different designs would work great.

Most of the dies I used are current with the exception of a few. I had fun coming up with the ideas for each of the holidays. Some were ideas that I had seen done by previous demos, others were things that I just put together with items I had.

If you look at the close up of some of the ovals, I put wink of stella on certain parts for some extra shimmer. Each one has some kind of shimmer, sequins, ribbon, etc to make it pop!

I love how each one came out that it's hard to pick a favorite one. But if I have to, I'd probably go with the butterfly or daisy one. Which one is your favorite?

And for now, I'm selling this at a upcoming craft fair even though it would look super cute in my house!! But that just means, I'll have to make another one for my house if this one doesn't sell!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Bright Birthday Cards

Hello! So I lied and I have a non-craft fair post today. :) While I'm still working on craft fair items, I did have to squeeze in some time to make a couple of birthday cards for a birthday party this past weekend. I'm sure I probably had some cards laying around that I could have used for the party but I love the excuse to make new cards, ha! And I LOVE how these came out. It's hard for me to not love a water color background card.

I knew I wanted to use the Brights DSP paper stack. The older girl loves blue so I went with the Pacific Point polka dot paper and then I used the Melon Mambo polka dot paper for the other card.

I used white Shimmery card stock for my water coloring. For the blue card, I used Pacific Point and Coastal Cabana ink. For the pink card, I used Melon Mambo and Gorgeous Grape ink. After I got the water color to my liking, I added some additional splatter with the Coastal Cabana and Melon Mambo markers.

The numbers were die cut with the Large Number framelits. I'm so sad these are retired because they are perfect for birthday cards. I also used the retiring stamp set to stamp "th" on the little banners next to the number.

I had to find some way to add in my favorite ribbon of all time!! The polka dot tulle ribbon is peaking out from behind the little banner next to the number.

Then I decided to use the Well Wishes framelits to die cut Happy Birthday from silver foil paper and the Lovely Lipstick foil paper (SAB - sold out). And after I put the cards together I used the Glitter Enamel shapes for some extra sparkle!! I love how these colors are so bright and coordinate perfectly with the cards.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Welcome Home Decor

Hello! I'm back again with another home decor piece. As I mentioned in a previous post, I am participating in a craft fair at the end of the month at a local brewery. I wanted to have a few home decor items for sale along with my cards. I feel like people are more interested in home decor pieces than cards. But I guess we'll see how the event turns out. Maybe I'll be left with a bunch of home decor pieces that I will need to add around my house, haha!

For today's item, I spruced up a wood piece that I got from Michaels. I cut the letter from the Large Letters framelits. I actually cut 3 of each letter so that each letter had some thickness to it when I glued it on the board. I also stamped part of the letters with one of the butterflies from Butterfly Gala to give it a little pattern.

The daisies were punched using the Daisy punch. Behind the daisies are some leaves that were punched with Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist card stock. I also added a swirly green leaf that was die cut with Mossy Meadow card stock.

For the finishing touches I added some flower wood elements (retired) with a Gold Faceted gem in the middle. I also added a few Iridescent sequins. I will find any place to add those sequins, ha! I think those are probably one of my most used crafting items!

Everything on the wood was adhered with a glue gun with the exception of the sequins because those were a little more tedious to glue with the glue gun. Also, to give the letters dimension, I still used Mini Dimensionals on the back and just added a dot of hot glue to each dimensional.

I had so much fun making this! It's so fun to come up with other ways to use paper besides making cards. I have one more home decor item that I'm working on and hope to share this week. And after that I have plans for one final home decor piece if I have time. So for the rest of this month anything I share will probably be craft fair related. :)

Have a great day!

Amazing Life Birthday Card

It's March and it's coooold!!! We are starting off this month with a bunch of snow! Not how I wanted to start off the month but it's ok. Hopefully this is the last of it.

Today's card is a fun card I made using the cake image from the Amazing Life set. This card started out totally different in my head but I like how it turned out. I originally wanted to color the cakes in a rainbow pattern but after I stamped them I wasn't sure I was going to like how it looked. So I decided to do a watercolor background instead using Blueberry Bushel and Call Me Clover ink. I love how it came out!

These are great colors for anyone! And I didn't make it to frilly so it would be perfect for a guy. I love the sentiment from this set. I stamped it in versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder on black cardstock. I really think it pops against the watercolor background. Underneath the sentiment, I added a couple of strips of DSP, Sparkle Glimmer Paper and Gray Granite ribbon. The final touch was a couple of Glitter enamel dots. Love these too!!!

I hope this card brought some sparkle and fun to your day! This is another card that would be super fun in some other colors. What color combo should I try next??
