Baja Flower and a Wedding Centerpiece

Happy Wednesday!! I’ve actually had a chance to get a couple of cards done. Today’s card was kind of CASE’d from Andrea Walford. I used her layout but I just changed the paper and stamps used. I used the Greenhouse Gala dsp along with Early Espresso and Crumb Cake. The flower is stamped in Baja Breeze from Friends Never Fade. And the leaf is in Certainly Celery, also from Friends Never Fade. The sentiment is from A Word For You. I plan to have another post for tomorrow. Woo hoo 3 days in a row!! I’m trying to keep up but now we have to get working on all the little wedding details, which apparently is a LOT! Plus the fact that I’ve decided to do my own centerpieces so that’s added to our list. Here is a picture of our centerpiece in progress. I have to do some better arranging with the wheat and then we plan to have some votive candles and maybe some little pumpkins around the jar. I’m also going to play around with the bow a bit too. This was just to see how it would look with the ribbon around it. I think it adds a nice little touch than not having anything. The ribbon is Rich Razzleberry satin ribbon (this plum color is the color of the bridesmaid dresses). I will post another picture of mock set up once I have it figured out. Have a nice day!

Aviary

Hi, just a quick post for today. Today's card is again for the color challenge on Splitcoast. Today's colors were Concord Crush, Peach Parfait and Pear Pizazz. The background cardstock is stamped with the swirl image from Trendy Trees. The birds and owl are stamped in the challenge colors and the cage is Soft Suede. Ribbon is white grosgrain and the button is one that I had in my stash of buttons. The sentiment is from the hostess set Silhouette Sentiments. I hope you like it!

Color Challenge

Here is a quick card for yesterday’s color challenge. The colors were Melon Mambo, More Mustard and Baja Breeze. A combo that I would never ever think of putting together but it actually wasn’t too bad. I think this is only the second time or so I’ve used More Mustard. I used On Your Birthday for the sentiment and For All You Do for the butterflies. The polka dots on the Crumb Cake CS are also from For All You Do. Ribbon is Baja Breeze and it’s retired. That’s it a fairly quick and simple card.

My invites!!!

Hello! Here are the finished invites…finally! These actually were not too bad to make. I had to do 50 of them so it wasn’t too crazy! I’m really pleased with how they turned out. I used the sets Watercolor Trio, Elements of Style and Life (Papertrey Ink). The swirl from the Elements of Style was embossed with clear embossing powder on the chocolate chip card stock. Colors used were Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, and Ruby Red. So this is one big thing checked off on the to do list. Now many many more little things to do. But instead I am off to Atlantic City for a few days of rest. Maybe I’ll come back a big winner and can hire someone to do all the little things left….ohh to dream!

Engaged Owls

Hi! Today’s card is an engagement card that I made for my brother. He just got engaged to his girlfriend last weekend. Very exciting! I decided to use the owls again because they are just sooo cute. The colors used for the owls are Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and some DSP from the Sweet Pea pack (retired) for their bodies. Everything else is pretty straight forward. This was a simple card to make besides gluing all the owl pieces together. The sentiment is from A Word for You.
Now that he’s engaged, I’ll get to make more wedding invites. Yeah! Mine are officially out in the mail. In the next day or two I will post pictures of them. I can’t believe it’s getting so close.

Adorable Owl

Hello! Today's card is for yesterday's challenge on splitcoast to use buttons. It just so happens that I got my order of Brights button yesterday so I couldn't wait to use them. I also caved in and got the owl punch. I wasn't planning on it but once I saw all the cute cards out there with him on it, I had to have it. Today's card is a squared card. I used soft suede as the base. Then I used the new square lattice texture plate on the baja breeze card stock. I used early espresso, blushing bride, crumb cake and rich razzleberry on the owl. The leaves from the bird punch is punched in pear pizazz. I then added 3 rich razzleberry buttons. The sentiment is from Party This Way. I first stamped in on the baja breeze cardstock after I used the texture plate and that did not work well. That is why it is cut out with the modern label punch...to cover up my boo boo.
Today I have a day off from work and I will be writing and stuffing my invitations today. AHhh!! Time is just moving way too quickly now. They are going in the mail on Monday so I will post some pictures next week. I hope to have another card to post over the weekend but we'll see how busy it ends up being. Enjoy your day!

Busy Busy and some Thank yous

Happy Monday!! Wow its been a busy few weeks and I think its just going to get busier and busier. Today I have some thank you’s that I made for my bridal shower that I had last weekend. It was such a nice surprise. My maid of honor did a great job decorating her house. It was a small group of ladies but very nice. I only did several handmade thank yous, the rest were bought (gasp!!!). With my weekends being really busy and trying to finish up my invites, there is just not enough time to do about 25 handmade thank yous. These thank yous will be going to my mom, future mother in law, grandmother and possibly bridal party. I cased a card of mine I did a while ago that was a case of Nichole Heady. I wanted to keep it fairly simple and flat. The large flower from Petal Pizzazz is stamped in Blushing Bride (how appropriate!), the middle flower is Pear Pizzazz, and the smaller flower is from For All You Do, stamped in Rich Razzleberry (which is the color my bridesmaids are wearing). The butterfly is from For All You Do, stamped in Rich Razzleberry. And the sentiment is from With All My Heart, which is stamped on a strip of vellum. I’m not sure if you can tell from the photo but everything was stamped on shimmer white paper, which was layered on Pale Plum.
I hope to post some more this week but we’ll see. I do plan on finishing up all the invites this week and have them sent out this weekend. So once they are out and sent , I will post them here. Enjoy your day!
