March Paper Pumpkin!

Hello! Long time no see. I didn't realize it has been quite so long that I've posted. As usual, things are busy busy. We have baby #2 on the way so I've been a little more tired than usual, chasing a toddler and dealing with the pregnancy symptoms. We just found out this week that baby #2 is a girl so that is very exciting!! (Not so exciting for my wallet, haha!)

Anyway, for my lack of posts, I will show you 3 cards today. They all use the March Paper Pumpkin kit plus a few other random things from my stash. If you haven't heard about My Paper Pumpkin, check out the Paper Pumpkin website for more info. You get a package each month filled with goodies to make cards, gift bags, etc. Stampin' Up! gives you all of the supplies you need to make the project that month. I just recently signed up and I'm so glad I did. I had so much fun with it. These kits are great for when you are busy and just don't have the time to create. Everything is there for you and it takes the guess work out of creating something. Of course, you also have the opportunity to use any other supplies you have to make it your own. Which is what I did with this month's paper pumpkin.

The first card is the example they show you in the kit. The next 2 cards are ones that I came up using my own supplies. I just love all of the items that came in the kit this month. The wood sentiment pieces are so cool. And of course you can't go wrong with glitter dots. And the biggest bonus of it all is that all 3 of these cards only took me a half hour to do. The first card probably only took me 5 minutes but it just looks so cute!! Also included in the kit are envelopes and the gold envelope liners. My plan is to have 1 or 2 posts each month showcasing the Paper Pumpkin kit that month plus alternative ideas for the kit. So stay tuned!!

Starburst Thank You

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I was fairly productive craft-wise, not so much in the cleaning department, haha! I was able to work on some cards for my upcoming card class. Stay tuned for information on this class. But on to today's card. I saw this layout on a card from Pinterest. I used the super cute Retro Fresh DSP. I am in love with this paper. I think I really like the fun springy colors in it. I stamped the sentiment from Starburst Sayins in Coastal Cabana and cut it out with the Starburst Framelits. The flower behind the starburst is from the Floral Framelits dies. I think this is the first time I actually used these dies. I have no idea what took me so long to use them. I then added some gold sequin trim and Crushed Curry ribbon. I finished it off with a very vintage designer button. This was a pretty quick card to put together. I think it would be cute to try this out with other DSPs.

Camper Love

Happy Monday! I am so excited to share this fun project with you today. I cannot take credit for this idea. It was done by the talented Erica Cerwin. I bought this tutorial from her because I fell in love with this camper. I wanted to make this camper for my husband for valentine's day and fill it with candy. There is currently no candy in it yet because I don't have any. But I'm so happy with how this came out. I could probably tweak a couple of things to make it look a little better but I don't think my husband is going to notice the little things that I do. I followed Erica's tutorial and just made a few changes of my own, like using different colors and what not. It was actually not that hard to do. I plan to make another one, just because. I apologize for the blurry "Love you" sign sticking up from the camper. For some reason I could not get that to be in focus for me. Every picture I took it was blurry. But I think you get the idea. I will post the supplies that I used for this camper but if you want the step by step instructions, head on over to Erica's blog for the tutorial.

Retro Banners

Hello! More new goodies to share today. I had a little extra time this morning before an appointment (with no baby around) so I took advantage to make a quick card. Even though I probably should have been cleaning or something. Oh well! I used the new Retro Fresh DSP from the Occasions catalog. The colors in this paper are so bright and fun. I think this paper "may" be my favorite from the catalog. Well at least for now it is. I cut out several banners with the Hearts a Flutter framelits and the Banner punch from the SAB catalog. I also die cut 2 starburts from the Starburst Framelits. The Coastal Cabana one is also embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder from SAB. The sentiment is stamped in Tangerine Tango from the Starburst Sayings set. For the finishing touch I added the gold sequin trim and a few random gold sequins. Love those too! I am just really in love with the Occassions mini this year. This card would look really cute using a variety of DSPs. It's a great way to use up all those scraps you have lying around. Starburst Banner

Happy Snow Day! To those of you on the east coast. We got a decent amount of about 12 inches or so. I think I have had my share of snow for this winter. I am definitely ready for spring/summer to get here. In the meantime, I'll just make some bright colored cards. Today's card is a Valentine's card using more new items from the Occasions mini and Sale-a-bration catalog. I used the Starburst Framelit dies to cut out a piece of the Fresh Prints DSP. The red stripe DSP is also from the paper stack. I used the Banner Blast stamp set and punch from the Sale-a-bration catalog. This little set is so cute! The hearts are stamped and cut with the Hearts a Flutter set and dies. I also used the Coastal Cabana twine from the sale-a-bration catalog. Love this stuff! The sentiment is from Petite Pairs. I really like these colors together for a Valentine's card. This way I can give it to the hubby without it looking too girly! :) Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Stems

Happy New Year!! It's been quite a while. I had meant to post a couple of Christmas ideas but time just got away from me. And who wants to see Christmas stuff now, I am so ready to move on to spring!! So speaking of spring, I have some cards this week using new stuff from the Occasions mini and SAB catalog (which is available at the end of January). For today's card I used the new stamp set Simple Stems. You can never have enough flower stamps. :) I stamped the different flowers in Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Calypso Coral. The stems are stamped in Gumball Green. The background polka dot paper is the Fresh Prints DSP paper stack. All of the prints in this stack are so cute! If you notice there are some gold sequins on the card as well. They are also from the Occassions catalog. Love them! I stamped the sentimet from Petite Pairs and then die cut it with one of the dies from the On Film framelits collection. The white frame around the flowers is also from that collection. And the finishing touch is Summer Starfruit twine from the SAB catalog. This twine is lovely too. You'll see this on another card this week! Joy Banner!

Happy Friday! As usual time has gotten away from me. I made this banner a couple of weeks ago but I just haven't had the chance to post about it yet. I had to make sure I posted it soon before Christmas passed us by. I originally wanted to make this banner for this cute snowman that I just got. He's about 18 inches tall and I thought it would be cute for him to hold the banner. But after I made it, I decided that it looked much better hanging on my mantle. It actually didn't take that long to make. I used 3 of the banners from the Build a Banner kit. I had some champagne shimmer paint from who knows when and I used with the polka dot stencil to make shimmery polka dots. I did mess up on the "Y" banner a little bit. My dots weren't lined up where I wanted them. But hopefully it's not too noticeable. I had planned on using the letter stencils that came in the kit but they were a little bigger than I wanted. So I went to MDS, picked a font I had and typed out JOY in green. Then I printed them and die cut them with the Deco Labels framelit dies. I then die cut 3 snowflakes on the silver glimmer paper (LOVE THIS!) with the ever favorite Festive Flurry dies. The final touch was to add a few buttons to each banner. I glued everything together on the banner with a glue gun because I thought that would help it stay together longer. Then I just used Cherry Cobbler seam binding and put it on my fireplace! It's a nice little touch to my mantle. So I'm still working on my advent calendar, ugh! I am doing the 12 days of Christmas which I'm starting today, so I'm hoping to finish up the last few things I need to this afternoon. I plan to post about that next week. I also have my Christmas cards to post about too. I'll post about those once I get them sent out.
